I missed replying to comments on a July post

Ron (@RonRybs) said in a comment that he enjoyed industrial history and I wondered if he’d ever seen a donkey wheel. I haven’t asked him yet. However, I went searching for the post I wrote about it. It was back in July and you can catch up here if you're interested: https://www.mylot.com/post/3459306/have-you-heard-of-a-donkey-wheel. To my horror, I discovered a whole heap of comments that I hadn’t replied to. I know it’s not a big deal but a personal commitment of mine is to reply to those kind enough to respond to my discussions. Now I’m wondering how many other responses and comments I might have missed. So apologies if I’ve ever missed replying to you. The photo is of a little donkey we saw in Ireland.

It happens to all of us at one time or another and I'm sure I'm not the only one who just figured you got busy with other stuff and it slipped your mind .... probably slipped our minds that we replied to your post.

It's sure a real donkey in the picture. I missed your discussion on the donkey wheel. I must check.

They used to use a donkey in a treadmill to bring up water from a well.

Do not worry, this happens. Going back in time and checking my old posts I noticed that I missed replying to some comments. I was a newbie and I feel sorry now. This is a pretty donkey.

@JudyEv I have to do the same. I bet that many users who used to leave comments are no more active

I need to go back and check some of my older posts - especially those that got posted when I was extra busy.

Sometimes I go back through my discussions, checking to make sure I covered all the responses/comments left for me. myLot doesn't always give us notifications for every comment we receive.

@JudyEv Usually, such missed responses are at the very bottom of the discussion in question. When I find them down there, I apologize for missing them and usually tease people about hiding out just to see if I can find them. People usually laugh and joke back before we go on with the conversation... Twice, I've gotten someone being snarky about being missed. When that happens, I delete their response. Problem solved.

I have not seen a donkey wheel, but I have seen a reconstruction of one for people. Not a job I'd like!

@Ronrybs Oh gosh that's pretty awful. They used to use blind horses in the mail coaches too. Imagine galloping along not being able to see ahead.

@JudyEv On a documentary they said that blind people were used for the wheels, since they couldn't see how precarious a position they were in, working suspended a couple of hundred feet up

At times if we have bern occupied in between, we could miss some comments or responses. I also remember commenting back on very old responses.

@JudyEv I have accidently deleted the wrong one from my notifications before. That might be what you did. Or you replied to one and thought you were done with that post. I have caught myself doing that.

It is hard to get to all of the replies sometimes. Sometimes I see some that were made hours or even days ago, and I have to go back and answer. When you have multiple discussions made over different days or time periods, it takes time to check them all and longer to answer them.
