Day 162 Psalm 26:1 (A Psalm of David.) Judge me, O LORD; for I have walked in my integrity: I have trusted also in the LORD; therefore, I shall not slide. 2 Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart. 3 For thy lovingkindness is before my eyes: and I have walked in thy truth. 4 I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers. 5 I have hated the congregation of evil-doers; and will not sit with the wicked. 6 I will wash my hands in innocency: so, will I compass thine altar, O LORD: 7 That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works. 8 LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house and the place where thine honor dwells. 9 Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody men: 10 In whose hands is mischief, and their right hand is full of bribes. 11 But as for me, I will walk in my integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me. 12 My foot stands in an even place: in the congregations will I bless the LORD. Are your intentions honorable? How do people see you? Do they question your actions, or see you as an upstanding member of your community who shows the same face in public and private? David was a man after God’s heart. Was he perfect? No. He knew he was a sinner. However, his intentions were honorable. Everything he did in public or private was with God in mind. He did not veer to the right or left, but held a straight course through his life. You can see it in the history of Israel, and in the psalms, he wrote giving God praise and honor in everything he did. Yet, sometimes, he wanted to remind God of what he did with his life as he did with this prayer. As Christians, your life is an open book before God. He knows everything you do in public and private. Yet, like David, you too will rehearse your actions when you pray, not to vindicate yourself of wrongdoing, but to show you lived a life of integrity and righteousness before God. David never puffed himself up but glorified God in everything he did and gave God credit for every victory he achieved. Are you a man or woman of integrity? Do you please God or man? Do your actions show you need to change your life? Only you can answer those questions as you come before God in prayer. Let’s pray: Father, You alone know me for who I am. I know I am a sinner. I don’t always do things right, but I always try to glorify You by my actions. If my ways aren’t right, show me so I can change and give You glory with my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. King David was far from perfect. The.psalms are a testament to his inner struggles.

Although David had sin in his life I like that the bible describes him as a man after God's own heart. Helps me to know even when I am not perfect, which I can never be, I can still desire to be after God's heart. Great reminder this morning. Have a blessed day
