The Dish that Keeps on Giving

My hubby told me that he's super hungry tonight. I told him that I was making homemade fries and breaded chicken breasts that we'll have on hamburger buns with a little piece of prosciutto and a slice of cheese melted on top. He asked me to make a few more fries, as he is really hungry. What he doesn't know is that I had a small container of red cabbage in the freezer. I thawed that out and although there is enough for him to have 2 meals of it, he won't leave the table feeling hungry. I often refer to red cabbage as the dish that keeps on giving-oh boy what am I in for tonight? ~Photo is mine

Its a smaller head then the regular green cabbage. I cook it up in a vinegar and sugar solution with a Granny Smith apple which gives it the sweet and savory taste. My hubby loves it. I don't like cabbage at all.

@Juliaacv I like cabbage. Sometimes I cook it with apples and sometimes with onions. Or by itself.

I don't like cabbage, but he really does. I only make it about twice a year. Fries done in the air fryer oven come out so nicely, have you tried them yet in yours?

@Juliaacv yes, homemade fries was the first thing we made in it and the most made thing in it lol. We just made hashbrown patties in it days ago for first time and the fiance loved them after saying they wouldn't come out as good as how they make them at his house on stovetop. (He wanted them day to two later from how much he loved them lol)

@Courtlynn Yea, my hubby likes his hashbrown sticks done in there. Tater tots are excellent, then you can load them up with ketchup.

That's good, it is a very healthy food. I boil his down with a solution of vinegar and sugar along with a Granny Smith apple, peeled and sliced up. Its the perfect combination, so I'm told, for the sweet and savory taste.

My hubby just loves red cabbage, I don't like the texture or the taste of it. I cook it down in a sugar and vinegar solution with a Granny Smith apple peeled and sliced to give it the sweet and savory taste.

I enjoy red cabbage now and then, My mom made some awesome red cabbage, She would shred the cabbage and then sautee it until it was tender, Then fry up some onions and bacon and then chop up the cabbage and add that and it was always a delicious dish,

I went down to the community room with a drink. Our 29-year-old tenant asked what I was drinking. When I said it was prune juice, my 79-year-old friend chuckled. I said, "Yes, Audrey. That is why I am drinking it," and thankfully, the 29-year-old didn't bother to ask us what I meant. But with that, the two of us laughed even more.
