Friends, I woke up yelling. My 2 legs were cramped annd it took me some time to get out of bed and start moving them. I am thinking about making a juice with the few oranges I have left. But besides that, I don´t know what else to do. What do you do for cramps? Do you have them?

@marguicha Oranges are good source of Vitamin C, I am not sure if they help with cramps.

@LadyDuck @marguicha Potassium is what your body lacks when you get cramps. The vinegar in dill pickles restores the missing potassium.

I used to get them all the time so I started changing my diet to see if that would help. Eventually I came to realize that if I ate only organic foods and not let my legs get cold I would not get them very often. I still sometimes get a cramp in my feet but usually it's because my foot got cold.

Next time you get a cramp, try drinking some dill pickle juice. A swallow or two will relieve the cramp in less than a minute.

@rebelann Do you have vinegar, salt and sugar at home? You can make up your own juice. Let me get the recipe for it. It's easy and takes hardly any time. 2 cups water, 2 cups white vinegar, 1/4 cup sugar and 1/6 cup table salt. Pour together and mix well. It can be kept in the fridge for up to a year in a lidded container. Two swallows when you feel cramps and you're good to go.

I don't get leg cramps. I wonder if it was from all the walking that you did. I hope you feel better soon.

I am 76 years old. I guess that the cramps have to do with my walking to the supermarket yesterday with my sister. I haven´t walked much since the covid started.

Light massage and stretching the toes upward is about all I know. Deficiencies in some B vitamins, D and E will cause muscle cramps. Mineral deficiencies too.

Dehydration could be the cause. Drinking water before getting to bed would be good.

@marguicha If you don't eat dill pickles, I gave a recipe for the juice in @rebelann's box on this discussion.
