I hope that those of you that celebrate had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
We had a very good dinner. I don't know what we are going to do next year because it was too much work for my husband. Maybe we will go to a buffet. The only thing is there won't be any leftovers. :-(
The closing on the house went well on Wednesday. I will have to call all the utilities again on Monday and get final readings and bills. It's such a relief to get rid of the mental stress and financial burden of having another house.
I need to get my behind in gear and get to the clinic for my routine labs. My appointment with my PCP (Primary Care Physician) is coming up fairly soon.
My Christmas cards are ready to mail on Monday. Maybe we will put up our little tree today and put the wreath on the door. We won't be doing any other decorating.
Our housekeeper/realtor and one of her sons have been sick; so she hasn't been over to clean. The kitchen is a wreck after Thanksgiving; and it could really use some attention.
What are you up to? Are you doing any Black Friday shopping today? (In the US the Friday after Thanksgiving is the official start to the shopping/holiday season.) I only have to buy a gift card for our housekeeper. I don't have anyone else to buy for; and hubs and I don't exchange gifts anymore. We don't really need/want anything.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Here the Black Friday is now in full bloom. I suppose that it is part of this society where to be has been changed for to have
. I don´t buy too much. Mostly food. I´m now wearing a pair of summer PJs that are over 20 years old

You need to buy yourself a new pair of PJs...and don't give them away!

No Black Friday shopping for me. With covid I would rather just avoid all the crowds.

Glad you had a good Thanksgiving. I never go out on this weekend unless I absolutely need something. Even then I will pay more at the gas station if I can get it there

Yeah, there's too many people out shopping this weekend. We haven't gone to a mall in decades.

@DianneN That's so sad. They give us so much joy; but it's so hard when they have to go.

I cooked dinner and did the cleanup yesterday, I enjoyed it. I'm not sending Christmas cards this year. Black Friday is for someone else, I'd never wrestle with that crowd.

Hooray, you got the house sold!!!! I know that gave you a whole boatload of extra things to be thankful for!!
My Thanksgiving dinner was turkey and dressing and cheesecake. The turkey and cheesecake were frozen, and the dressing was Stove Top. It took about ten minutes to make the meal.
Love that photo!!!!
Have a blessed day!

Glad you enjoyed the photo. Yes, getting rid of the house was a good early Christmas present. Cheesecake!!! I usually make cheesecake for the holidays; but I can't do that anymore. Last year I coached hubs when he made my recipe for cheesecake; but he put in extra eggs; and it didn't come out right. I'm glad you had a turkey. Do you live alone? I've never heard you talk about anyone else. You have a blessed day too!!!

I wasn't going to buy anything; but J. C. Penney's had a sale on bras -- $44 bras for $14.99. I couldn't resist!

Glad the closing went well. What did you guys cook for Thanksgiving?

@LindaOHio That sounds good. My mom made a 22-lb turkey (Costco didn't have smaller size lol), butternut squash & sweet pea soup, and rice pilaf with butternut squash. I made cranberry sauce using Ina Garten's recipe. Mom also made a few salads. And then two pastries. It was phyllo dough and inside was different fruit. One of them had butternut squash inside. I bought cornbread.

@lovebuglena Sounds so good. I love cornbread and corn muffins. We didn't have any fresh eggs or I would have had hubs make me some corn muffins.

We bought a turkey dinner from Giant Eagle. We got a cooked turkey, gravy, dressing and rolls. Hubs made white potatoes, sweet potatoes; and we had store-bought pies. We still have lots of food. YUM! I will gain at least 5 pounds.

Seems like you have a lot going on Linda. I always find this time of year to be challenging for juggling things like bills, doctors' appointments, cards, decorating and shopping.
Family get-togethers like Thanksgiving and Christmas can actually wind up being exhausting

That photo is so cute! We've had a few big Thanksgiving dinners over the years, but we didn't mind when the kids went to in laws for Thanksgiving as long as they came here for Christmas. Not sure if they're coming home this year or if we're all going to our daughter's in Charleston.
We've gone to a buffet for Thanksgiving, but you're right, no leftovers. I know you all are so relived and happy your other house is sold.
