Nihongo ga wakarimashita?

Watashi wa nihongo ga sukoshi wakarimasu! Katakana to Hiragana ga wakarimasu demo kanji wakarimassen.

I think the topic title needs a "wa" not a "ga". =)
So the title translates to "Did you understand Japanese?"
So it must be.. "Nihongo wa wakarimasu ka?" (The question mark after the particle "ka" can be omitted. "Ka" is the Japanese "?".

i can recall a few things, tho im not sure how to spell any of them, so pardon my buchering:
cho to mote: "just a moment."
torie wa duku des ka? "where's the toilet?"
su mem a si. "make way."
goe mem a si. "excuse me."
du crein. "welcome."
d'oh! i can't remember thank you. and i know there was about 3 different versions: a real short one, a medium, and a long. i took to be "thanks," "thank you," and "thank you very much."
