Hi guys, Hope you all are doing good. I am doing good too. Today, 2nd December is celebrated as "National Pollution Control Day" in India. This day is celebrated every year in remembrance of those who lost their lives in the Bhopal Gas Tragedy. In Bhopal, India, in 1984 on 2nd and 3rd December there was a gas methyl isocyanate leak out of the Union Carbide plant. It's effects is still felt by people even after 35 years. The main objective of this day is to educate the people about importance of pollution control acts and making them aware about Industrial Disasters. The day aims to bring awareness to people about prevention of air, soil, noise and water pollution. I just hope and pray that as we the citizens of nation act responsibly thereby causing less air, noise, soil and water pollution. A lot of people are dieing every year because of different types of pollution. Pollution is also leading to disruption in environment and climate change. Just thought to share it with you guys. Have a good day. Take care!!!

I know pollution in India was much less at one period of the lockdown because there were much fewer vehicles on the roads.

@rashnag It would be even better to make every day a pollution control day, but at least this is a start.

This holiday is mch needed around the world. They must take extra steps to decide to use dangerous methods of energy and then make sure oil spills , gas leaks, and pollution does not take place. We must sustain the earth and use sustainable and non polluting energy
