Health Report for Yesterday, December 1

I had issues last month that had my weight going up instead of down. Primarily the house warming where only one person showed up. I'm not normally a depressed person, nor do I normally eat when I am depressed. I did this time and gained up to 192 pounds. I spent the entire month coming down from that. I managed at one point to get to 182, but soon settled around 183. And then Thanksgiving happened and I'm coming down again. Here are the numbers for the past year. January 1 - 182.2 February 1 - 179.6 March 1 - 179.0 April 1 - 179.8 May 1 - 182.8 June 1 - 177.6 July 1 - 175.2 August 1 179.8 September 1 - 177 October 1 - 179.4 November 1 - 187.2 Yesterday was also an unusual eating day. I still only had two meals. It was the second one at Longhorn Steakhouse that I thought I would really need to worry about. Not really. I'm happy with today's weight. Yesterday, I also started wearing my fitness tracker again, Fitbit. Before I finally got it synced and erased all the steps I had over 5500 steps with swimming and the fitness center. I don't know how many I got since then. It doesn't show any stats for yesterday. So, I'll be noting them for today forward. Yesterday's weight was 184. As you can see from the numbers above, that's down from 187.2 from last month. It's also a long way from 192 where I got to after the housewarming. With the therapy I'm doing for my lymphedema which also helps me lose weight, I'm down 9 inches on my right leg that was the most swollen and where the blood clots are and 4 inches on my left leg. Both legs are looking very good compared to what they were. Now, I need to get the weight off my thighs. She said that will happen too. That's what the yoga compression pants are for. Okay, that's my health report for yesterday and November. Do you keep track of your weight? Do you need to? How are you doing? Thanks for reading. Image courtesy of Pixabay.

Sorry about the things that went on that led to your weight going up, it can be a hard battle. That's great that you are down from what you were after the housewarming. Hopefully the next year will be great for us both in our weight loss journeys. I haven't lost the weight I wanted to this year, but I know I am around 10 pounds less than I was on January 1st, been around 181 to 182 these days.

@just4him Think it is the new pill, helps to not hold on to as much sugar, and so that also helps with weight loss. It was under 181 today which was nice. I am also drinking more water a day

I am sure the therapy for your lymphedema is helping a lot now with your weight. You will start the year at a lower weight than the past year.

I can relate to emotional eating. I've struggled with it my entire life so the scale bounces up and down. Its something I'm working hard on. I'm slowly adding steps each day and give myself small goals. Feels good when I see my accomplishments. I admire your determination Valerie and think it's great that you're making progress. You're an inspiration to me

I think you're doing well too. Thank you. I am determined. This last month took me on a side journey I don't want to go on again. Emotional eating isn't normal for me. I'm glad you're working on it. Your determination will win the day.

@just4him Thanksgiving didntvthrow me off too bad but with Christmas coming I have to do a lot of self talk because I don't want to backside too much. It's probably unrealistic to think the scale won't go up a bit.

@Marilynda1225 I'm doing some self-talk too. So far, I'm coming down bit by bit since Thanksgiving. I need it to go down a lot more before Christmas.

I don't need to keep track, but I do. Got as low as 123.5 like 1-2 months ago then slowly went up and down until finally got back up to 129ish today. But it's okay. Not overweight by bmi thing until 130+ and even that isn't important. Long as i stay under 150 ! Sorry you had such a rough time. You got this going forward though

My doctor keeps track of my weight, every six months I get weighed in. You are doing better every day, in spite of the higher amounts of calories during the low number attending your Open House and Thanksgiving holiday. 184 pounds you should be happy with this loss:)

Well you know what you need to do. I haven't been weighing myself but I can tell I am essentially unchanged from last year. Although I do notice "Some" of clothes are a bit llooser than they were last year, or some are a bit longer.(I think) So, I probably lost an inch or so. However, I was disappointed yesterday that my jeans fit the same. Loosing weight, especially when you are older and your body and metabolism wants to fight you all the time is not easy.

No, it's not easy. I noticed how long my clothes are getting as I lose the inches. Especially my pants.

I rarely weigh, the size is my pants, if it starts to be difficult to wear it means I have to go on a diet

Oh I feel shy saying this, I am not keeping track on my weight but when the lockdown happened I cut down on rice and sweets. And I try to sweat it out by doing household chores .

The lockdown was hard on everyone trying to keep track of their weight. You can still walk in your home. Chores help, but it isn't a heavy-duty workout.
