Gas in my Apartment

We had such a beautiful day. I opened all the windows and the door to my deck.I vacuumed the floors and polished furnitures. I was working away when I smelled what I thought was gas. I went I to the bedrooms and the smell was strong. I waited awhile but the scent didn’t go away. It scared me because there was a gas leak in our buildings a few years ago.
I walked down to the leasing office to get someone to check it out. They said they would send someone and I continued on for a walk. I walked along the creek and on the trail. I stopped by the mailbox and fished out two ads, tore them up and dumped in the trash. As I came back to my apartment a maintenance man was walking out of my apartment with a gas detector in his hand.. I asked if he found where the scent of gas was coming from and he told me the detector didn’t pick up any scent. I came in and I didn’t smell gas.
I don’t know what’s going on. The maintenance man told me if I smelled gas again to call the gas company.

We had that happen a few years ago at the other house. When we opened the interior door to our garage, we smelled gas. I called the gas company. They sent a guy out. When he opened the interior door, we didn't smell gas. It was weird. The next day, I didn't open the interior door and called the gas company. This time, when he opened the interior door, the detector went off.
He sent Pretty and I outside while he tried to find the gas leak. It was a pipe going to our heater that had rusted a pin-hole leak in it. He replaced the pipe and we were good to go.

@DaddyEvil It does, I thank you for the information. If I get a sniff of gas I’ll call the gas company.

This is frightening, the smell of gas isn't something you'd mistake for something else!

@RubyHawk It's not safe, even for a short length of time!

Hmmm, that is a bit odd. I guess you will have to be alert and call the gas company if it happens again. Maybe it was just a temporary thing.

With the windows open the place could have easily aired out while you were working or had left. But, you're right. That's who you should call if that ever happens again. Just be careful tonight just the same.

That is a scary thing, Even if you don't smell any gas now I think you should inquire with the gas company who that could be, Perhaps gas is leaking and building up somewhere,

That's unusual, be careful, gas is to be very careful of, as I know, you know of this too. It's good you told the office, too. God, protect you & keep you safe. Amen.
We had brush fires, up the mountain a couple of days ago, and the winds brought smokey scent, late at night, so I checked, no fire just the carry over from mountain brush fire. Been raining since then so I'm relieved about it.

Sometimes myself and my son and daughter have come by and we smell gas in my kitchen, but all the knobs on the stove are off.
I hope you don't have a gas leak!
