No more turkey please

I was looking in the fridge and realized I still have maybe 2-3 pounds of leftover turkey and I think this is going to be the last day I have to try and eat some of it. I have some turkey soup I made in the freezer so that should be good for a while but the stuff in the fridge must go before I make myself sick on it. This is the last that I took out of the freezer on Wednesday so it has maybe till tomorrow, and I will get rid of it. I am about sick of turkey anything right now so I might just heat some up and make some mashed potatoes with it for dinner. Are you still eating leftovers from Thanksgiving or are you done with that? I'm so done with eating turkey; I wish when I got it, they would have given me a smaller turkey. This is getting old really fast.

I guess you won't have one for Christmas?

No, I don't celebrate Christmas so it's just another day for me.

I didn't cook a whole turkey just drumsticks. I don't want the ordeal of having too much left. I tire of food fast, if I eat it all the time..

@popciclecold Well I wasn't planning on them giving me almost twice the size turkey I asked for, so I had to deal with what I got.

That seems to be the problem whenever you have a big turkey..figuring out what to do with the leftovers. Sis and bro in law had a 22 pound turkey, they had been looking for a 24...but honestly, After everyone plowed into it at Tgiving, I didn't see that many leftovers. I bet they ate all of them without too much trouble, and I think a soup was made as well. Just think, you may be dealing with ham leftovers soon!

@Bensen32 Wow! I heard that there were hardly any small turkeys this year and they were hard to find. That is kind of why I was surprised my fam couldn't get the larger size they wanted.

Yeah, I ordered and picked up groceries at Walmart and asked for a 10lb turkey and they gave me a 18lb turkey. Even the 10lb one would have been a lot for just me so or course the 18 was just total over kill.

@snowy22315 Yeah, not sure I have not walked into a grocery store in at least a year now other than the corner market and they don't have that much in there.

I don't think I ever get tired of eating turkey, especially when it's deep-fried. But I also make sure I get as small of a turkey as possible to meet my needs each holiday so that I'm not stuck with lots of leftovers. I think I only had leftover turkey for 2 days after the holiday, which wasn't bad at all.

I always try to make a very different dish when I use leftovers. I don´t like to have the same dish for many days. Fortunatly, food can be kept in the freezer until I forget about having it.

I think a hot turkey sandwich with gravy and dressing is as good as it gets! But even I would get tired of it after a while. I baked a ham for our week late Thanksgiving, and will do the same for Christmas. I'm the only one who eats turkey, so no point in cooking one.

We went to my daughters for Thanksgiving so I didn't bring home an overload of leftovers. But usually when I have that much stuff leftover I freeze it in portions and enjoy it later on.

Well, none of the shelters around will take opened food. I gave my son some of it but he didn't want much because he had some leftovers himself.
