We had to say good bye

My dog Sissy of 13 years passed away December 1st. We new she was going to go, but just didn't know when and we didn't have the funds to get her to the vet. Rather have her here at home anyway. Well the night before she came up to PJ (hubby) and just sat with him loving up on him. The next morning I heard her walking down the hallway and she got a drink of water and came laid beside me. I could tell by the way she was breathing that something was wrong. So I talked to her, telling her that it was ok and that she can go. I held her till she took her last breath.
Hardest thing ever. She will be missed so much.

I am deeply sorry for the loss of your pet. It is very painful to say goodbye to your best friend.

My sincere condolences. It's awful hard to stand by with nothing to do but give comfort. I lost a 12 year old a couple of months ago and I'm currently nursing my oldest girl now. She is 14 and her time is short. She has been a good dog and it's going to hurt when she crosses over.
I feel your pain Hillary.
