What exactly does opinion mean?

In every argument or debate we hear or read about opinion of others, and some say we should respect what ever opinion there is.
My question is a little tricky , how can you define opinion? Is it different from personal belief or observation? How do we know if an opinion is true or not?

Opinion means what is a person's thinking about a particular topic be it anything. As everyone is different , thus their thinking too is different. If we know the facts and if someone opinion matches that, then it's true. However, opinions are very subjective

Opinion is just how you think about a particular situation. Unfortunately, they don't have to be fact based and often aren't. I think when people get frustrated by a different opinion is when people cling to their own, even if deep down they know they know they are illogical.
