I watched "8 Bit Christmas" with my son last night. It's on HBO Max. It was another cute movie I'd recommend especially for parents who grew up in the 80s and even 90s. I didn't grow up in the 80s but I was born in them and a lot of the 80s sort of carried over to the early 90s. The movie is about a father who tells his daughter about how he got his Nintendo after she tells him how she really wants a cell phone and he tells her she isn't getting one and proceeds to tell her the story of the Christmas he wanted a Nintendo. I thought it was another cute Christmas movie with an important takeaway for kids. I don't want to give away anything for those who haven't seen it and want to. I'll just say it sends a good message to kids about Christmas and what really matters the most not just during the holiday season but always. This was probably my favorite newer Christmas movie I have seen in a while. I highly recommend it. It took me back to my own childhood before cellphones and online shopping. It reminded me of a simpler time.

I remember when my kids wanted cell phones . I told them wait until you are 16 and get a job. Than you can pay for your cell phone yourself.
