Day 179
Psalm 59:1 Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: defend me from them who rise up against me.
2 Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men.
3 For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O LORD.
4 They run and prepare themselves without my fault: awake to help me, and behold.
5 Thou therefore, O LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah.
6 They return at evening: they make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.
7 Behold, they belch out with their mouth: swords are in their lips: for who, say they, doth hear?
8 But thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen in derision.
9 Because of his strength will I wait upon thee: for God is my defense.
10 The God of my mercy shall prevent me: God shall let me see my desire upon my enemies.
11 Slay them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by thy power; and bring them down, O Lord our shield.
12 For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying which they speak.
13 Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they may not be: and let them know that God rules in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah.
14 And at evening let them return; and let them make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.
15 Let them wander up and down for meat, and grudge if they be not satisfied.
16 But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defense and refuge in the day of my trouble.
17 Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defense, and the God of my mercy.
Have you ever laid out a plan to bring down those who stand against you? You see it in movies and on television programs. You see the vindictive nature of people in those who set out to hurt mass amounts of people in various acts of terror. Yet, though you want to see harm come to those who devise such plans, you don’t carry those plans out yourselves.
David’s enemies were many and hunted him to kill him. He asked God to be his defense and set out plans on how God could get rid of his enemies. Yet as presumptuous as David’s plans are, he puts his faith and trust in God to take care of the situation and keep him safe.
As Christians, you often tell God how to get rid of those who come against you. You lay it all out so that in your mind’s eye, it works to perfection. Then when God doesn’t do things the way you want, you get angry with God because your enemies haven’t backed down.
Instead of telling God how to do things, pray and ask God to defend you. He promised He would. Trust God to take care of your enemies His way, not yours. Watch God bring peace out of chaos. Praise God for the answer to your prayers. Thank Him for doing what only He can.
David may have brought his plans to God to defeat his enemies, but He also trusted God to defeat his enemies His way. David praised God for taking care of him in every circumstance. You need to trust God too. His plans are much better than your plans. Tell God your plans and trust Him to take those plans and make them better as He takes care of you in the best way possible.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the LORD.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Let’s pray: Father, help me trust You and Your plans for me. Let me know that my way of doing things isn’t Your way. You have a better way. Help me praise You and give You thanks when You defend me against my enemy, Satan. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Thank you for this Valerie.
Some people are angry when they did not hear from God, remember that when God seems so silent, He is doing amazing things for you and me.
