My midnight question

"Santa" has always filled our Christmas stockings on Christmas Eve after everyone's gone to bed. It's usually candy, maybe fruit, and a small stocking stuffer. For the last few years, Santa has come to the conclusion that none of us need or want all those sweets. So, the question is: what can he fill the stockings with? Certainly not a lump of coal. Although there are a couple of family members who could possibly qualify. Any suggestions will be appreciated. It's past midnight in eastern North Carolina, so "Happy Christmas to all and to all a goodnight."

When our son was in grade and high school I could manage by stuffing new pens and pencils and sticky tabs and things like that in his stocking. It has becoming increasingly difficult and expensive as he's grown and matured. This year we will not be doing stockings, they have everything that I stuff with. I did buy 2 really small stockings and will put some 20 dollar bills into those for the twins, our son and his wife can buy them things if they require anything before their birth, otherwise, they can open a bank account for them.

A bank account for the twins is an excellent idea

Sugarless candy. Any small gifts would do. Lip balm, a body wash, etc.

How about small toys for children. Small jewelry or a keychain for adults.

When we filled our stockings we would put some bags of peanuts and other nuts, sesame seeds and such. Gift cards to places we enjoy going out to eat at.

I think it depends on the person receiving the gift. Just make sure it's something useful.
