Three blankets for tonight.

I usually I only use one blanket to sleep since it's sunny in the morning and the apartment stays warm the whole day. Tonight however I just couldn't bear with the cold !! One extra blanket wasn't enough so I added another one. I hate to feel cold. I hope the weather is good to be fine tomorrow I'm not in the mood for big coats or umbrellas. How many blankets do you need to sleep. ?

Three blankets seems like a lot to me, LOL. I guess you do what you have to, to stay warm. I only use a thin sheet in the summer to cover with and in the winter, I will use the sheet and a wool blanket. That is often enough for me. If it gets really cold outside, I might add another throw blanket. I usually keep the house about 65 F (18 C) in the winter. For me that is comfortable.

@Babino Have you thought about an electric blanket when it gets too cold for you? I don't think I would want one but if you normally get cold, I hear they are really nice.

Yeah it was heavy, but warm .. I have no control over the apartment temperature, sometimes I light candles to warm up my room.

@Bensen32 I've never heard about them. I should do my research. It's only cold like 2 to three months per year, and only at night so.. but it's worth checking out.

Never used blankets for years. I have a winter duvet which I use in winter, and a summer duvet which I use in summer. Right now I am using the winter duvet. It’s rated at 13.5 Tog and as cosy as cosy can be.

I'm planning on getting one soon. I wanted it just for the look of it. But I guess it will be more practical.

Well, it is mostly a blanket till moderate winters and a heavy quilt after that (when minimums are often 8 C or lower). It is only during a cold wave (many days with very less sunshine plus many days with maximums below 12 or 14 C)that we have a quilt plus a blanket. Is it near freezing in the place where you live?

Hawaii usually, pleasant to sleep. But, now, our winter, us rainy season. It can get cold, high 60s. Out comes flannel nightgowns, extra blankets & sweaters and coats. To me it's chilly. I'm tempted to buy a throw blanket on sale for 7.99.

@Babino Me too. No snow, except at Maui & Big Island mountains at times. It can go to mud 60s, so, wise to have a nice warm blanket, for those times. I've been internet window shopping, Walmart, has pretty good prices. But for very cold places, nothing beats electric heating blankets used safely.

I usually use two blankets for sleeping. I also turn off my heat at night because I get too warm with it on. I didn't know it got cold in Morocco.

One blanket during a mild cold day. When the cold gets near freezing then I use two blankets.

This really depends on the temperature of the house - we used to live in the country- wood stove had to be stoked - so the temperature fell significantly overnight- that was my down duvet times - now we’re in a small place with electric heat - no need to have a lot of extra blankets.

Have you heard of a rock band (or were they sort of pop/country? Four walls would know!) called Three Dog Night? I think it meant that some nights are so cold, you need three dogs to sleep with to stay warm. Or in your case, three blankets.
