Dehydration is scary stuff and can be very serious. Each organ in our body needs water to work correctly. I didn't know this until doing some reading on the subject. We need water to survive. I just read another article on the subject and learned some new things. Here are some great things I learned about dehydration: * Morning time is perfect for drinking 16 ounces or more of water. Our bodies have been through a long fast and need it. Squeeze a little lemon for a great boost of vitamin C, potassium, and antioxidant phytonutrients. * Before, during, and after exercise is a great time to drink some water. When you are active and outdoors drink 6 to 12 ounces of water about every 10-15 minutes. * When we think we are hungry we could actually be thirsty. Drink some water, wait a little while and see if you feel satisfied. * Extreme water loss happens when we are sick through diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. Avoid alcohol and caffeinated drinks when sick and drink water. * When you are on a plane or after you have gotten a massage are both good times to drink water. A deep-tissue massage is an excellent time to drink water and flush out the toxins and other substances that the massage has released.

I know how healthy it is I just cannot drink water first thing in the morning. I kind of hate it no matter how many times I try.

I've gotten into the habit of drinking 8 ounces or so in the morning.

Interesting. I never drink enough water; and when I get my labs done it always shows decreased kidney function. I never learn.

I've been drinking a 16-ounce glass of lemon water each morning for quite some time now.
