Do-over Thanksgiving 2021

I got exposed to Covid not quite a week before Thanksgiving this year and couldn't be tested until that Friday. Thankfully I'm negative :-) However that meant mom and I had to spend Thanksgiving apart. So we did a do over Thanksgiving a few days later. We had some easy to prepare substitutes for our usual fancier offerings. Relish tray remained the same, as did the jelly cranberries, the last pie they had at the store I got - it was "strawberry rhubarb" and was actually quite tasty, a can of cream style corn instead of our usual scalloped corn, stovedtop dressing, and this "frozen turkey" entree which was easy and fast but not the tastiest thing you've ever had. But all the same I enjoyed the not-a-lot-of-prep-work-or cleaning and it was still a fun Thanksgiving with my momma and that makes me smile. Have you ever had to do re-do or do overs? How did it turn out? Photo: Mine

I do like cream style corn, but it is hard to find over here. I have saved a tine from last year, for this Christmas Day!

Me too! Aw, it's pretty common here. If over-sea shipping weren't so terrible expensive I'd send you a can

Well I did have only tv dinners this year for Thanksgiving. It was easy peasy this time. I am so glad you were negative Faye. Sorry you two had to spend it apart but you sure made up for it huh. What a beautiful table set up there. It looks so lovely and tasty. Yeah I do not mind those strawberry rhubarb pies..pretty good huh.

Aw, some TV dinners are pretty good - and, less work to be sure. Did you have anyone celebrating? Thank you! I wish we could have you over!

@RebeccasFarm Pity about the distance but at least technology brings us together. Aw sorry, but at least it's better than discord or unkind people :/

I’m thankful you were negative and got to celebrate, even if it wasn’t the best-tasting dinner.

Thanks! It was pretty good -- the "turkey" was a little different but I sure enjoyed the not as much work aspect of it all lol

I'm glad you girls had a nice dinner together. I was in the hospital with a bowel obstruction and got out the day before Thanksgiving. So we had our big dinner the next week with our son and grandson. Sure glad your test was negative.

That's awesome !! We usually do a re do anniversary if it's hard to get together in that special day.. it doesn't really matter if it's a little late as long as we get to enjoy it.

I agree with you. It's not so much right on the date that matters, but instead it's the good times with loved ones

I would have to say no. At least not quite like that. I'm glad you made the best of a bad situation, though.
