An innovative use for old ties

I saw this idea on our village Facebook site. It’s an apron made from old ties. Someone made it from her father’s ties after he passed away and I thought it was a really good idea. I love the shape too. Who would have thought you could make something so nice from old ties? Do you have bright ideas for old ties? I use old socks to dust ornaments. I pull one on my hand and dust off all my bits and pieces – ornaments, that is.

No ties around here, my ex never wore them but I did steal a couple of his tee shirts and over the years as they became holy I made cleaning rags out of them.

@JudyEv @rebelann1949 Both my exes stole some of my shirts when we divorced and wore them when they came around for whatever reason. (My first ex told me she just couldn't sleep without me. I asked her how did she manage the first 37 years of her life. She told me I wasn't funny... I was still laughing when she said it, though.) Apparently, she curls up wearing my shirts to bed.

@JudyEv I've never owned a tie in my life. And no, the "No comment." was directed at you dusting all your bits and pieces.

@DaddyEvil Oh yeah - I forgot about that bit. Sometimes I put these things in wondering if someone will pick up on them. I'm a bit sneaky sometimes.

I have a couple of Ties and may be something I can try in the future. If some people have a lot of old ties, this can be a nice idea. Of course, one must not get someone's active Tie for such a purpose !!

@JudyEv Yes I was just kind of saying this in fun. But I have some very old ties somewhere in some bag, so I can try some day.

Looks like there is a recycle for everything. Still, I couldn't do that to my Marvin the Martian or Einstein ties!

Well, of course, there are limits! You'd only do this to ties you no longer liked/needed/wore. And yes, it seems just about anything can be recycled.

I saw a wonderful wall hanging made from ties. They had belonged to a man who had passed away and his widow had used them to make something that must have been a real memory stirrer every time she looked at it. It is sad to throw away ties, they are so well made and so colourful.

That is a great use of old ties. I don't know anyone that still wears aprons, but if I did, I would try to make them one of those aprons.
