Funny Signage: 'Ped Xing'

I am not sure in your country if they are using signage called 'Ped Xing.' Don't be surprised about it and not dare think who created such a short form of 'Pedestrian Crossing.' It sounds like a Chinese name, right? I was laughing when I am trying to decipher the origin of it. In fact, you can see them all over the streets in the Philippines. I thought it was a person's complete name 'Pedro Xing.' It is still not clear where did they get this idea. Regardless, if it happens that you are in my country, don't be confused with this sound like Chinese words. You are still in the Philippines and not in China. Any funny street signs in your country? Is this signage used in your country?

That sign is used all over the place here, too. Pretty and I like the signs that say, "Slow Children Playing". (One of us always says, "Oh, those poor children." when we see one. )

That's something new. I guess I need to have one if the twins are grown-up babies with their older sister in the yard.

We have "Ped xing" signs here in the states, too. I don't know about the country, but we have a sign just a few streets away from me with a picture of a mother duck and ducklings that indicates "duck crossing".

That's cute! I would love to see mother ducks with her ducklings moving across the road. I am glad that this 'Ped Xing' exists at your place.

My nephew has a sign which shows a drawing of a goat and underneath is Xing. So it's a goat crossing. It's just meant as a joke.

That's funny, too. It seems that I can make one if having something special event in the farmland.

I agree. I sometimes think that people in LTO need to reorient them before the renewal of their driving license.

I don't know where it originated, but yes, here in the US we have "Ped Xing" signs. Probably somebody's clever way of saving money (fewer letters). That's my theory anyway.
