I bet many of you never knew these obscure interesting facts. I'm also sure you never gave any of these trivial facts any thought either. But like a good quote here are 2 facts I found which you can spring on someone to impress them with your amazing knowledge of useless information. THIS IS THE ONLY STATE THAT FITS -Now I've never thought about this before (and why should I), but of the 50 U.S. states there is only 1 that fits on one row of your keyboard! Every other state uses a top, middle or bottom row. Do you know which state fits the "pad?'' Hint it starts near the beginning of the alphabet. DRAGONFLIES ARE QUITE AN INTERESTING INSECT SPECIES -They evolved some 300 million years ago. They fly straight up and down and can mimic a helicopter by hovering in the air. Not only that, but they can even mate in midair. But with all that aerial ability there is one thing they cannot do. Even with 6 legs Dragonflies cannot walk Seems their legs are not strong enough to support them. Do you have an insect you find most interesting and why? Hope you got a kick out of these oddities. Which fact did you enjoy learning about? Source Info- www.healthline.com & Best Life Photo- healthline.com

The only “one row name” state is Alaska. That’s why we made it a state. Dragonflies are gorgeous. I saw a lot of them at Reelfoot Lake in Tennessee a couple of years ago. If their legs won’t support them I guess they either need a diet or strength training. Thanks for the tidbits!

Yes, funny the largest U.S. state would fit in one row, lol. Dragonflies beautiful but dainty. Here's a beetle whose no sissy.... Hercules beetle- strongest creature on Earth for its size — it can carry 850 times its weight! That would be like an adult carrying 7 elephants.

Alaska it is! Such a small name for the largest U.S. state Butterflies are great and so colorful. Check out this strange looking moth! Atlas or Cobra Moth- the tips of their wings have a pattern that looks like snakes! They have a huge wingspan almost as long as a 12-inch ruler.

I wouldn't mind sitting in a tree to film one but I'd be damned if I'd want to be very close to one.

I had fun with Alaska. It took a few seconds to figure it out. Now, that's an interesting fact about the dragonfly. I found them both fascinating facts.

@dgobucks226 That's a huge beetle. I hope it doesn't live near me. He's one strong beetle.

Yes, I've discovered insects have some really unique behavior. Like the Hercules Beetle. The strongest creature on Earth for its size — it can carry 850 times its weight! That would be like me carrying 7 elephants. Or someone a lot stronger, lol.

@just4him Fortunately they are nowhere close to Green Bay Some species reside in the Southern states like Florida or Texas, others live in Mexico and further south.

@dgobucks226 I haven't seen one quite like that. Mostly they look like thinner sticks.

My pleasure! I bet your familiar with the Australian Walking Stick. Another insect with unusual habits this insect emits a peanut butter smell when they sense danger. They sit on branches and resemble them to easily blend in and hide. And I must say they look weird!!!

Yes, the state which gives us the Aurora Borealis...Alaska! Another odd insect: Australian walking stick- this insect emits a peanut butter smell when they sense danger. This insect uses camouflage too. They sit on branches and resemble them to easily blend in and hide.

1. Alaska 2. I didn't know that about dragonflies. Interesting? 3. I find the butterfly fascinating. It's incredible that it develops from a caterpillar and has amazing navigational instruments and instinct.

Yes, North to Alaska and the largest U.S. state. Amazing info about that pretty butterfly. And they bring their own air traffic control system on their flight north, lol. I always enjoy the colors of the Monarch. Here's one with quite a strange looking coloration. Glasswing Butterfly (Greta Oto) is a brush-footed butterfly which wings are transparent. The tissue between the veins of its wings looks like glass. They are found in the range which extends throughout Central America into Mexico.

I am sure it is Alaska. I am fascinated by dragonflies. They come to lay eggs in our pond, so I stopped to empty the pond to clean it not to kill the crysalis. They can stand on their legs, I have kept them on my hand and they move.

@dgobucks226 - They do not walk for long, but they stay on their 6 legs. I like to look at them when they get out of their ugly cocoon in Spring. There are many around our pond.

That's odd? Most can't walk. Even with 6 legs. Guess you found one who made sure it got plenty of vitamin D.
