Hi MyLot!
Did I join a gym where the equipment is made of gold? Did I have 20 different personal trainers moving my individual limbs for me? Did my workout come with a massage, steak dinner, and workout clothing?
Nope! It's a 1 year membership to the fitness app, "Supernatural" for Quest (VR headset) . I hesitated, but thankfully "Supernatural" comes with a free 2 week trial, so I knew I would use it and liked the format well enough to purchase it. Since I do not feel comfortable in a gym yet due to pandemic, this has been effective at keeping me moving.
Supernatural has a calibration mode - that adjusts how far you much reach, and your range of motion for lunges and squats. It also offers the following - boxing workouts, flow workouts (where you smash targets with your batons), stretch and meditation. You can search through the 100s of workouts by type, length, type of music playing, coach, and difficulty of low, medium or high.
The coaches , even though they are pre-recorded and virtual are actually really inspiring and your workout takes place against different VR scenery of real places in the world.
Seeing as I've used it 8 times now, since paying for it ,(not counting free trial) - I guess it's $22.50 x workout. I plan on keeping track of how many times I use it through the year so I can say how much it comes down to, cost per use style
Here is the official trailer:

Happily it comes out to about $15 a month... but still. Here the weather isn't nice enough to work out outside for any length of time for about 6 months out of the year

It is, actually the trainers they have seem to make it a worthwhile pursuit. Happily it comes out at about $15 a month

@FayeHazel Yes, I think the most important is it really inspires us to move! I used to search here and there for free fitness apps, but I usually just tried for awhile then stopped. I am happy that I have found one that I can stick to the program for about three weeks which I usually stop within a week.

Thanks! It does seem to inspire me to keep moving so far, that's a good thing :-) I'm happy you've found some inspiring videos yourself

@FayeHazel Still, not cheap, but if you're using it, then you're getting the value

@Ronrybs True. Similar to a gym membership.

Ah yes. The cost made me think twice, however the app is one of the main reasons I got the headset ($300) to begin with anyway. Doh! The whole thing is a big money grab. Fortunately it breaks down to $15 x month. Not too bad.

@FayeHazel Here it is cold today but even when it is cold and raining my husband goes out to run with his group of friends, that is what I consider admirable

The price made me think twice, but is mostly why I bought the headset.... it is cost on cost. Happily it comes out to about $15 month. Running is admirable. Here the weather isn't good enough to be outside for long.

Nice! Here it isn't nice enough to walk outside for any length of time for about 6 months at a time. Well, some people do it, but I'm not as inclined for the cold temps or bundling up :-D
