I've Fallen and I Can't Get Up!!!

I've had a few falls over the last week.
I was in barefeet and slipped on the hardwood (???) at the top of a 5 step flight of stairs. I bummed it all the way down to the bottom. Hurt some muscles trying to stop myself. My husband got mad. Yeah, he got mad. Not sympathetic. He did ask if I was okay. I said "no" and he got up, turned on the hall light and went back to what he was doing. "You should watch where you're going!" he said. He later told me that I scared him. Not scared him in he was worried about me, but scared him as the sound of me falling startled him. Cared about his own well-being more than mine.
The next day I went to take the garbage out and slipped into some booties with no tread. I slipped on the snow and fell down ending out lying flat on my back. When I told some family members their first question was "Did anyone see you?" Really? I don't care if anyone saw me.
Well, two nights ago, my daughter's fiance pointed out a slippery spot on the ceramic floor just outside our family room. It's weird how slippery the floors are in our house. Must be that amazing Bissel steamer. A couple of hours later I slipped on that spot and fell hard on the ceramic hitting an elbow and both my knees on the way down to lying flat on my stomach. My husband was in bed. Because I had just told the family the story about my first fall, the girls and the fiance asked if I was okay. The fiance came running actually.
Then my Apple watch started vibrating violently. I looked at it. It said, "It appears you have fallen. Do you need emergency assistance?" I called out to my daughter who also has an Apple watch. This turned concern into laughter from everyone. She giggled, "I've never fallen".
I clicked on "no" for the emergency assistance. Then I got a message for me to click either "I didn't fall" or "I fell but I'm okay". Obviously I clicked the second one. I want them to know that they're system worked (though why didn't it work the other two times I fell?") The girls continued to laugh uncontrollably.
I think of the situation now and find it funny. However, two days later and I still feel like I've been run over by a truck. I don't see any bruises forming (and I'm always getting bruises), just sore muscles everywhere. Who would have thought a fall would give me such a beating? Or maybe it's a combination of all three falls that are catching up with me.
People laugh at crocs but I gotta say I use them as house slippers. Any other footwear in the house are just as slippery as socks. Heck even bare feet are slippery for me. I remember the kids laughing when they saw a picture of us going surfing in Hawaii and they had us wearing crocs. Now our front hallway is filled with crocs of all sizes and colours. They really are the best thing to wear on my feet around the house. Just gotta make sure I always have them on when I'm walking around.
Another reason why I prefer carpetting.

Oh my! I'm sure glad you didn't break a bone, but I've learned from numerous falls that injuries can become more apparent a while afterwards.

@1creekgirl We had a broken green bin (compost) so we had to put bricks on top of it to keep the racoons out. I ended out dropping one of the bricks on my foot last winter. Right on the knuckle connecting the toe to the foot. It is STILL swollen. I know there is no point in seeing a doctor or getting x-rays. There is nothing that can be done for a toe.

@patgalca My falls over the years have led to a concussion, rotator cuff surgery on my shoulder, bursitis in both hips, scratches, bruises, a sprained ankle, and a dislocated toe!

I'm sorry (and I've probably said it a few times before) but your "hubby" needs a technical adjustment upside his head.
Maybe your Apple phone only recognises when people fall forward and not backwards.

I know he does. See my newest post about news I woke up to. He thinks he is invincible and I also accused him of turning against me recently as far as my fibromyalgia is concerned. I said he supported me emotionally for 25 years and now he is trying to tell me there is nothing wrong with me. What's wrong with me is him.

I have a pair. It's just something I need to slip on just to walk out to the garbage bins. I bought my husband some duck shoes for Christmas but they ended out being women's so I kept them and ordered him a new pair. So I use those now.1 person likes this

I'm glad you're okay, though. Fall dection is fairly new for Apple, and since it's designed to detect movment, you might not have triggered it the first two times because of the way you fell. You seem to be okay, though. So that's good.

Ya think? Actually, the number of times when my daughter was younger that we heard her fall UP the stairs and then hear "I'm okay. I'm alright" immediately after is just hilarious. We do like to laugh in this house. But getting mad at me, that's a whole other ballgame.
I still laugh when I think about the fall with the watch going off.
