Scammers

Despite my efforts, scammers still reach me from time to time. It's okay, though. But, what's funny, with one simple question I flustered one yesterday.
I answered a call, and after the intro speal, I asked one simple question. 'Do you have a do not call list, I would like to be on it.' After I said this, the person on the other end started to breathe funny, and this lasted about a minute before I disconnected the call.

For these kinds of reasons I am glad I do not have a mobile phone, I do my calling and texting over the Internet through Textnow so I am not bothered by any calls, I hope those scammers finally leave you alone.

I use Textnow as well, for a secondary number on my non-working android phone. I used to get a lot of spam calls, now, I barely get anything.

@RasmaSandra I agree with you on that one. The truth is, on my daily driver, my regular cell phone, I have a lot of contacts. However, I talk to maybe two on a regular basis and one of those is my husband. The main reason my husband and I have cell phones, is because he's still working. Should something happen, we need a way to get a hold of each other or emergency services.

@kaylachan since I really have no one calling me and I don't have many to call it is a great site so I can call just those I need to for free and get my messages through

I know what they wanted me to say. Phone scammers in particular, have a script they use. I went way off script and the guy didn't know how to respond, because it's not in their script.

I get scammer emails all the time. I know how to identify them and delete them. I will have to do a youtube video on what to look for and how to eliminate the problem

This isn't e-mail, and many e-mail programs have good spam filters. I usually mark e-mails as spam and clear out my spam folder every so often. No. This was a phone call.

I can't say it'll work every time, but it worked when I needed it to. So, that alone, I'm thankful for.

I start asking them questions to get them go off script and they usually hang up on me.

I think I got one months ago but did not realize it was a scammer til last month.
Good that you were able to identify it right awaym
