Made Biscuits Today

I’ve told myself for several days to get busy and cook a pan of biscuits. My mouth has been watering for hot biscottis filled with butter and jam. Today I made biscuits and filled them with butter and strawberry jelly, made a hot pot of coffee and settled down to a feast. I made extra biscuits so I’ll Have some later and tomorrow. Temp is in the twenties today, about too cold to walk but I wrapped up and walked to the mailbox and took a short walk while I was out. That will have to do for today. At least we don’t have snow and I’m thankful. What are you guys doing today?

We've taken down the last of the Christmas lights and are now hibernating out of the heat.

I stayed inside where it's warm. I love winter, but these low numbers made lower by negative wind chills are best enjoyed looking out the window. Biscuits with butter and strawberry jam sound awesome. I'm glad you made enough to enjoy today too.

The suns out this morning. I hope to get out later today. I had leftover biscuits for breakfast and they were still good. I heated them in the microwave fifteen seconds.

Your biscuits sound good. I would like to try strawberry jelly. We had a fine weather here. The sun is already up and it is now starting to warm up. It was 21°C last night.

Yesterday and today we in the low thirties almost like a heat wave as it does back down tomorrow to 21 and lower in the days to come. We went grocery shopping and bought meat to cook for the first time in months. So I cooked supper and have been figuring out where to put things in my almost completed kitchen.

@RubyHawk we've run our heat since October. And, btw, I've never made homemade biscuits but I'd eat them with butter only

It’s in the forties today but cold weather is coming in. I’m glad they got my heat on today. I’ll need it through the weekend.

@MarshaMusselman My heat had been on but the furnace malfunctioned and I had to call maintenance to fix it.

@nela13 I slice the biscuits open and fill them with butter and jelly while the biscuits are hot. Then heat when I’m ready to eat.

So do I. I always make a pan full and it takes me a few days to finish them. I pop a couple in the microwave and heat them in fifteen seconds.

My mouth has been watering for them as well--I was reading in the newspaper today about a recipe for chili and biscuits all cooked in the same cast-iron skillet--it looked delicious!

@sjvg1976 No I don’t. We have very little snow usually but sometimes we have several inches and roads are icy and dangerous.

@xstitcher How terrible for you. My daughter in law was sick and looked for a testing place over the holidays but none were open. She was sick for several days so she might had covid but she’s well now.

We were going to just stay home but my cousin called and wants us to go with her to get mint shakes. That does sound good so we will be leaving when her and her husband get here. I think she wants us to do something for her. We will find out when she gets here.

That's a delicious snack. Now, I'm cxraving for sweets too. Today, I took down the last of my Christmas decors. How fast time flies, soon it will be summer again. It must be so cold there. but it doesn't seem so in the photo.
