Day 209 Psalm 109:21 But do for me, O GOD the Lord, for Your name’s sake; because Your mercy is good, deliver me. 22 For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me. 23 I am gone like the shadow when it declines; I am tossed up and down as the locust. 24 My knees are weak through fasting; and my flesh fails of fatness. 25 I became also a reproach unto them. When they looked upon me, they shook their heads. 26 Help me, O LORD my God: O save me according to Your mercy 27 That they may know that this is thy hand; that You, LORD, have done it. 28 Let them curse, but You bless. When they arise, let them be ashamed; but let Your servant rejoice. 29 Let my adversaries be clothed with shame and let them cover themselves with their own confusion, as with a mantle. 30 I will greatly praise the LORD with my mouth; yea, I will praise Him among the multitude. 31 For He will stand at the right hand of the poor, to save him from those who condemn his soul. Are you ready to give a defense for your actions? Do you feel justified in everything you do? David pleaded his cause to God after he laid out his plan for the wicked and how God should deal with them. He recognized God’s mercy and forgiveness as he prayed for God to deliver him from his adversaries. As Christians, you have many ideas on how God could deal with your enemies to bring justice to your life. You even justify your actions in light of those who come against you. David didn’t lose sight of who God was as he praised Him for his salvation. You need to examine your life. Are you justified in your actions as David was? Do you pray often or rarely? Do you spend time with God in His Word, or does your Bible remain closed and covered in dust? You cannot call yourself a Christian if you do not spend time with God in prayer and Bible study. You cannot call yourself a Christian if you treat others with disdain and think of yourself better than others. David was a humble man of prayer. His thoughts were always toward God as he praised Him for bringing him through every battle, every trouble, and encouraged himself in the Lord when people wanted to stone him. His enemies were many, his friends few. What can you say about your walk with God? Can you justify your thoughts and actions, or do you need to spend time in prayer repenting of your actions? Glorify God by your thoughts and actions. Let your words line up with your talk as you live your life according to God’s Word. Let’s pray: Father, forgive me for justifying actions that do not please You. Help me live my life according to Your Word. Let my words and actions bring You glory. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. I do often ask His forgiveness for what I have done to bring all this pain on me and ask for mercy.

The single word 'Amen' is not an acceptable response to a discussion
