I discovered some roasted chicken breast in my freezer.

Sometimes I am too lazy to write down the name and date of something that I freeze. In those moments I´m sure that I will remember and that I will eat it soon.
Those statements are not true though. Yesterday I decided to start thawing little by little those mystery tupperwares. I found first a sort of bread we fry here. I put it back.
Then, on my second try, I found a tupperware with some unknown entity. I left it to thaw. If I didn´t like it, Luna would and it would not be lost.
Today, thawed, I discovered that it was a big piece of roasted chicken breat in perfect conditions. I´ll make a bechamel sauce and cut part of it and will serve it later with pasta.
Do you always name what you put in your freezer?

No we don’t because we put them in freezer bags that are sealed well and they are clear so we know what it is all we put on it is a date and year

@wolfgirl569 The one in the fridge gave me this surprise. But my deep frezer is upright with drawers. Still, food "walks" from one place to the other

@marguicha I am pretty good about it in the chest freezer. The one with the fridge sometimes has surprises for me tho

I used to have that. I only bought a deep freezer too around 5 years ago.

@marguicha Then you have a good supply of frozen food. You probably don’t have to grocery shop as often.

I always did; but now that my husband is in charge of the kitchen, he does not identify or date anything.

@marguicha My husband does very little cooking. We are fortunate to have Meals on Wheels Monday-Friday which gives us a substantial lunch.

I always mark them with marker pen what is food so roughly get the idea what to cook the next day

We don't use freezer but we put food in the fridge and we make sure it is all used within a week

It happens to me too. Luna is the winner now because if I take out something I don´t like, Luna ends up eating it happily. She prefers my food instead of dog food.
