I never thought it would happen

All my life I've loved to eat. Until now. There is a photo I can't upload right now of me as a very fat baby girl. and when I was 4 and 5 in between big country family meals I used to go in my aunts garden and pull carrots out of the ground and munch them and behind her stairs she would have dried apples in big burlap sacks I would sneak and eat I liked nearly every kind of food. Later when I was doing dishes, I would eat fried chicken scraps and such from the pan it was fried in. etc. At 11 yrs., I weighed 127 lbs. 5'2 ", mom kept threatening to put me on a diet. I'm 74 now and been having indigestion and trouble gaining weight since I was 70 yrs. Dr. said I was anemic Monday when he saw me. I've been taking vitamins and everything but to no avail. I always used to hear about people with loss of appetite but could not believe it. Now I know and wish it hadn't happened. I guess it's not too bad a thing when I hear people can hardly afford to eat these days. I eat good when they fix a nice hot full meal here but that's not often. Just saying. then I suffer for it. I guess I don't have a question. Maybe just a few suggestions on indigestion. thanks for reading friends.

Pretty and I both love to eat, too, and with staying home because of the pandemic, it's really starting to show... I've gained about 30 lbs this last year.

good for you. I guess the only thing you can do is run around your room and do sit ups

@DaddyEvil Funny thing. Same here. I have nearly everything on other half of my bed.

@bunnybon7 No running around in my room. I have a queen sized bed and this bedroom is small. I have a walkway around my bed about two feet wide. I have to walk slowly or fall onto the bed when I go around the end of it. My laptop(s), tablet(s) and phone take up one half of the bed and I get the other half.

@askme123 I remember those when sister in law gave them to her kids. tasted awful before they could get them down. I tried one once to see what all their fuss was about. yuck. But I might try.

I'm sorry. My doctor put me on a new medication that made me gain weight. I wish I had less of an appetite but not the way you have to feel. That can't be good for you.

I used to feel the same. Always wish I could loose weight. But now as they say, "be careful what you wish for" is how I feel now

You don't need to ask a question for a discussion. You just need to spark interest.

They say double-malted milkshakes every day are good but that might be a bit hard too. Sorry about the indigestion. I don't have any tips as I rarely get it. Mostly I'd just take a QuickEze tablet.

yes, I tend to not care as much for sweet stuff as I used to.

I get indigestion when I have any pork products, so I stay away from it and it leaves me alone. I'm sorry you're having trouble gaining weight now.

yes pork is harder on me too. Except sometimes it's what they fix here for dinner. So I eat it and try to live through it.

@bunnybon7 Maybe your indigestion and other medical problems are keeping you from being hungry. What does the doctor say?

I hope this condition improves for you. I too have appetite issues. Many wish they had this problem, but they have no idea. Good luck to you.
