Day 215
Psalm 119
Psalm 119:25 DALETH. My soul cleaves to the dust; quicken me according to Your Word.
26 I declared my ways, and You heard me; teach me Your statutes.
27 Make me understand Your precepts; so, I will talk of Your wondrous works.
28 My soul melts for heaviness; strengthen me according to Your Word.
29 Remove lying from me and grant me Your law graciously.
30 I chose the way of truth; Your judgments I laid before me.
31 I stuck to Your testimonies; O LORD, put me not to shame.
32 I will run the way of Your commandments when You will enlarge my heart.
What do you do when you know you’re doing everything right, and still nothing goes as expected? Where do you turn for answers?
The psalmist turned to God. He showed Him how he spent time studying the law and precepts God gave Moses. Yet, he felt close to death. He asked God to teach him what he didn’t understand.
As Christians, many times you feel inept in everything you do. You feel like you’re missing the mark, and yet, when you look at your life, you don’t know where you failed. In those times, you need to seek God. Pray, ask Him to teach you, to show you what you’re missing.
When you spend time in God’s Word, He will teach you and bring to remembrance His Word so you can stand against Satan when he makes you feel like a failure.
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman who needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; but you will meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
As the psalmist said he would obey God’s commandments when God enlarged his heart, Jabez also prayed for God to enlarge his territory.
1 Chronicles 4:9 And Jabez was more honorable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.
10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that Your hand might be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.
God will do the same for you when you seek Him with all your heart, spend time with Him in prayer and Bible study, and obey Him in all things. Will you fail? Yes. That’s why you pray. To make things right and come into His presence with a repentant heart.
Let’s pray: Father, I know I’m a sinner. I fail every day to follow everything You tell me. Help me spend more time with You in prayer and Bible study so I can know Your heart. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Amen. I always try to do the best I can for myself but if needed I know I can look toward the Lord and say a special prayer,
