Midsummer Night

January 15, 2022 1:56pm CST
The sun was still bright at 6:30 evening. So, a visit in the garden was extra special. Hubby took some shots of things alive with his telephoto lens. My vegetable garden also looks great as he framed out all kinds of weeds around. The pumpkin, peppermint, tomato bushes and other greens in the background look so good and healthy. I think I did well starting up in early October in Spring mulching with cane sugar and pea straws. Many days have been so hot to work in the garden. So, I just let the weeds have their sweet time to grow.

Very nice. I'm about to start prepping for spring here. Three weeks away from pruning back the fruit trees and uncovering the strawberries and asparagus. I hope to have a garden that looks as nice as yours.

@Vikingswest1 You're funny. My cherry trees grew very small cherries (not plump and juicy) on their first year. Any advice, please?

I am sure you're doing just fine. That does sound amazing though.

Thank you, Kayla. One of these days, I'm going to pull weeds and add some for mulch. Black birds make a big mess pecking out the straws everywhere.

How I wish it is already summer here so I can enjoy the sun on my balcony and watch the tomatoes that I will be growing.
