This fish was empty when I saw it last month. The idea was to put all rubbish and litter from the beach here to show the impact of plastic in the oceans. I can't believe it's now full. Simple are yet so powerful. Making us more mindful of our plastic wastes.

That’s a lot of trash. We should do better.

Indeed we should. I feel like putting things in recycling is just not enough.

@RubyHawk well I do segregate them in my bins and follow council rules but I can't deny I still have a lot of "refuse" wastes or what they consider as non recyclable.

This was in Southsea foreshore but there's another fish at the city centre of Portsmouth, UK.

@flapiz Thank you. We have been in Portsmouth, we took the Ferry there to go to France. we were there to get an expensive car that one of our client bought and asked us to take it to him.

@LadyDuck I think you're talking about the Brittany Ferries. It's my dream to try that someday.

This is a good way to remind people not to throw plastic at the beach.

@mildredtabitha I am not sure they seem to have left it full. I think it's staying like that for a bit to show to people and hopefully it gets emptied again.

@flapiz so now that it's full, does that mean there is a truck to collect all the waste so it can be empty again?

Plastic is the real culprit of so many environmental disasters. We need to be really mindful about it's use and recycling. Marine life has suffered a great toll due to these plastic wastes.

Yeah it's a shame when we see these marine life eating these plastics or getting stuck in them. We must be more responsible of our waste.

@flapiz Human beings are on highest pedestal of evolution and so we are born with a huge responsibility of taking care of all other life forms. But sadly we become selfish and arrogant and feel that we are superior and own them. Now the nature is backfiring at us and we need to mend our ways

@arunima25 it's become quite hard though. We have become accustomed to using convenient things such as these plastic packaging. It's went on for a very long time it's hard to actually stop using it now. There have been efforts to minimise waste but I think government should impose stricter policies regarding loitering as well.

That's wonderful that the receptacle is now full. Plastic waste in the oceans is really, really detrimental.

I reckon if we do this seriously I'm sure we'd need more than one fish receptacle. It's a visual way to show us the impact of plastic wastes.

It's a beautiful way to warn us about pollution! I saw something similar, near a school, where children were instructed to throw the plastic waste in arranged places!

It is catchy. These days we got to be creative to get a message across as it's hard to grab people's attention with the media age.
