Scaling Back On My Shopping.

First of all, let me warn you right now that my next few posts are going to be back to back. I'm not trying to hog up the feeds, I just wanna go to bed soon. Besides, it won't be more than three posts (and it'll be several minutes between them because I don't have them written out or anything like that lol).
So onto the post at hand. I've decided to scale back on going shopping for a few weeks. I'm still going to shop for essentials, and I'll go out for walks if the weather is decent (it's cold, snowy and rainy tonight, so who knows?), but I'm talking about unnecessary shopping trips.
I've been having a little bit of trouble bouncing back (financially) from previous events and situations over the last few months, as something is always coming up. So, I think scaling back on going shopping is the best way to let my funds build up higher. It's rare I make any impulse online purchases, so that's not going to be an issue for me.
It'll also give me more time to focus on the things I need to do to improve my routine (and not just work-related stuff, but exercising and self-care as well), so it's a win/win. I mean, I don't go out every day, but sometimes, breaking my routine to go out does cause me to fall behind.
So that's my plan. I'll probably do this for just a few weeks and re-evaluate in early February. If I need to extend this plan, then so be it. And it's been cold, so I don't think staying in is the worst thing lol.

I used to be really bad about impulse shopping online but I have gotten a lot better.

@tammys85 I am the worst impulse shopper at Dollar Tree. Because I'm always like well it's just a dollar. One time I went in there for two things and fifteen minutes later had spent eighty five dollars.

@thislittlepennyearns And this is why I need to also stay away from the Dollar Tree for the rest of the month lol. I'll go in for 1-2 things and come out with 8-10, which isn't as much as 85, but it still adds up when I keep on doing it.

Staying away from buying something that you don't really need is a good idea. That's how you end up saving up money.
