I got my guitar restrung yesterday! And thoughts on "perks" from Guitar Center

Yesterday I spent the afternoon watching the 49ers beat Dallas and restringing my guitar. I'll attach a photo of the guitar with all of the strings taken off. With the strings all off, I polished up the area under the strings which had become dusty and slightly crusty. I also used some guitar polish on the fingerboard, for a smoother feel and slightly faster playing. This is my Collings OM-1, my gigging guitar and my teaching guitar. With new strings, it will sound brighter yet smoother in the treble, and the bass will have more "throng." It will also be easier to tune. "Perks"? My camera's batteries had died, including the rechargeable ones I bought several years ago. I mentioned this at work on Wednesday, and two different coworkers found me some batteries and just gave them to me. Changing the strings on my guitar took only about half and hour while watching football. It would have been even quicker if I had one of those plastic "string winders." I'm sure I could get one of those for free at Guitar Center. My boss already gave me an extra tuner, a Snark, which is seen as the best tuner available these days. Have you ever had a job where there are "perks"? I don't even know if I'm spelling that right. I guess it means "free stuff," employee discounts, occasional vacations, etc.

"Crusty"? You really shouldn't eat stuff when you're playing guitar... And yes, that is how one spells the short form for perquisites.

I'm glad you had something interesting to do while the game droned at you in the background. I'm sure it would have put me to sleep if I had it on here.

It was a good game. The 49ers were mostly in control, but almost let it slip away. I'll watch game summary later today. I missed a coupe of key plays.

@DaddyEvil Thanks for the reminder. I got involved in other stuff and forgot to watch the game summary. I'll do that now. I hope they beat Valerie's Packers next weekend, but I'd bet on the Packers if I were a betting man (I'm not).

I got some perks when I was Director Of Quality Control at Astrid's House Of Swedish Massage.I should have gotten more, though, cause that was an exhausting job.

I completely understand. Especially if you were an older man, like over 19.

@TheHorse Oh no. I hope I die before I get as old as 19.

Nope never had a job with perks but perhaps if I had worked for more than 8 years in NYC I would have gotten some as I went from job to job in marine insurance always climbing to a better position but then I left for Latvia,

Hopefully you have a nice nest egg stored away. I do, but I'm addicted to work.

I guess you're talking an electronic tuner. That's great that there are a few perks. You've sold enough guitars for them so you're entitled to a little something.

Eh, I just walk around there like I own the place. And then I sell another guitar.
