I finally cycled today. What is your favorite exercise right now?

I have been threatening to ride my bike for several weeks. But laziness tends to kick in, and I wind up doing a few curls and nothing more. Today, I got my bike down to the curb, and later got a few "laps" in around my apartment complex. I left my bike on the curb, and may do a few more laps before the day is done. Did you get some decent exercise in today?

I hope your bike doesn't get stolen. Is that likely to be an issue there?

Not where I live right now. During the day. As long as I bring it in at night. And don't call attention to it. And I don't see any strangers in the neighborhood.

@JudyEv I hope so too. Where I live, people don't seem to do home invasion robberies. But they do steal bicycles and...tools from work trucks.

@TheHorse That's good to hear. Our gated village feels very safe in that way. We're old oldies and past petty theft - at least I hope so.

I used to take a brisk walk and a bike ride every day. Laziness set in, after falling because of Kobe's antics. Now, my dog has been gone for five months, I still haven't taken even one short walk! Shame on me

I have a bad right knee that tends to go out on me so best I do is walking, Inside and outside to stretch my legs but have to be careful so I won't fall.

I used to have a bike, I really loved cycling, it got me around much faster than walking. Eventually I got a car but I still used my bike to get to work. My work required visiting people and I realised one day that I had more time doing that if I didn't have to reckon on the time taken to cycle from one place to another. It was also less tiring. So I reluctantly gave up. I live in a hilly district now so cycling would be quite out of the question these days.

I sometimes cycle even if it's hilly. But I'm not as ambitious as I was when I was younger. Near my house, it's mostly flat.

I do envy you now. I do 30-min core exercises every morning now. I used to bike 30 kilometers everyday from home to school and back. Not anymore after starting a family. I used to swim 2k non-stop at least once a week, but that was before the pandemic lockdowns. Nowadays, I manage to swim only at times when the lockdowns are lifted or lenient.

I'm glad you do core work, though. That's essential. And if it becomes a habit, it will serve you well when you're an "old guy," like me.
