I'm praying that all the Mylotters and their families who are dealing with this horrendous storm are safe and warm. I can't imagine how hard it must be to survive in these conditions.
A winter storm tore through parts of the U.S. southeast on Sunday, bringing freezing rain, ice and snow to the region. In Florida, a tornado watch was issued ...

That's the storms that went through Missouri this last Friday through Sunday. It dumped around 8 inches of snow on us but the snow melted off today.

Yeah, I was reading about that and counting my lucky stars. I'm so glad it's already melted. Your area will be so beautiful come spring. It hasn't snowed here since 2015 for which I am grateful and if is does so come November or winter of 2023 I pray it'll only be an inch or so. I'z too dang old to deal with snow. Hmmmmm, maybe I just need to find some really good snow boots just in case we get some in 2023.

That's sweet of you and yeah, once upon a time millions of years ago this area was under the sea. Mom actually found a fossil of a fish in our mountains back in the mid 1960s.

Many have a ton of snow. Not here thankfully. I hope the power returns soon. Many have lost so much.

@rebelann Thank you, we were lucky this time. I am not sure it will be over for a few weeks, we will see.

Well, we, or at least I, know rather more than we would like about bad storms. My sister is up there near the top of the map. However, she's retired now, so she's probably huddled up with her wife staying warm.

Yes, some eastern areas get hit pretty hard by winter storms but I'm too far west for that to happen as badly as what they get ..... so far we have not gotten any snow yet. I am hoping 2022 will not see any snow here either, I would rather just get some rain.

Some snow is probably good where you are as long as it is not so much that you have to dig out of it.

I think it must have been for those who lost power in that freezing cold winter climate they had

Welllll, to me an inch is a lot of snow whereas to you an inch is just a wee bit. Does that answer that?

@rebelann that is of course dependent on how much of the desert you have in you

It does seem to happen in that area fairly often in the winter months. I am so glad I live in the desert area of this country.

We didn't get it as bad as some other parts but our snow turned to freezing rain which caused a whole lot of problems. Everything turned from slush to frozen solid

I thought so too and agree. Hopefully that storm has lost some of it's force and won't cause anymore problems.
