I just stumbled across an interview with Val McDermid, the well-known and best-selling writer of crime fiction, in an old magazine. It discussed her life and how she pursued her dream of becoming a writer. (In case anyone else is interested, her biography on her own website tells a similar story
What tickled me though is that she has recently got together with other writers of crime fiction to form a rock band called - wait for it - the ‘Fun Lovin’ Crime Writers’. They play covers of classic rock songs or, in their own words, “Murder songs for fun”

If you don't mind can you tell me what kind of genre you usually read ?
She got interesting Biography! It took 7 years for her to live her day job

Her name sounds familiar but I haven't read anything she's written. Maybe I know the name because sometimes other writers, in their books, will mention what their character is reading and I don't always recognise the name.
