Saw an old friend.

When I went out today, I ran into an old friend, kind of. My neighbor's dog, Maggie, just loves me. When she's out of her house, she'll run up to me. Since my corrner of the world has no sidewalks, that means walking onto a narrow road. I'm not to happy about it, but what can I do, really? I stop, lock my breaks, and pet her of course. This usually makes her day.
WHen I came home, Mama the cat, was checking me out as if she'd never seen me before.

@kaylachan My dog was the same way. Whenever he smelled another animal on me, I had to tell him he was my pet, not the one I visited when I went to a friend's home.

@just4him My cats usually don't care. Chilly only gets curious when I bathe. I wonder if the cookie might've been part of the reason. I'm betting it was.

She didn't see me do that. Maggie's house is on the other end of the street from mine. Although, I did eat a cookie after I got home and before I sat down and pet her. So, I suspect that's where most of it came from.

At freezing, I doubt they'll step outdoors. And it's a lot hot here.

I have this same concern, too. So I head for their house in hopes she'll follow me. She usually does.

I can see you love pets. At my age I can't seem to have the patience to take care of them as they are not potty trained and the cats are stray cats brought home by my generous grand kids.
But I feel happy when I see them happy with their pets.

Awwww, that is so cute. I love pets, whether they are mine or someone else's. When I play with or pet somebody's dog, cat, horse, whatever, my cats let me know that I smell different.

that's how my daughters cat acts when shes been around another animal. She gets mad at her too then stays away from her for a while.

Mama cat was smelling the scent of Maggie the dog, I used to have a friendly dog in Latvia who came out from his fence every time I passed his house to greet me and enjoyed my petting him,

Yes, I know. I love to say hi to her, but I feel bad, too. We have no sidewalks on my street, so she runs right in the road to greet me.

I like these kind of stories where you meet a neighbor's dog who comes up to greet you like she knows you as a good friend.
