Entertainment in the dining room

We have been staying in a luxury hotel for three nights to celebrate our golden wedding which was back in September. Everything is impressive in this place but I loved this display in the dining room where we’ve had breakfast each morning. There are three different sauces/gravies that cascade down from jug to jug. It’s just for show but it’s fascinating to watch the liquid slowly making its way from top to bottom. I could have watched it for hours.

Thanks for the good wishes. I think it did have chocolate in it but I'm not really sure what they were.

It's a bit of a waste of chocolate though, isn't it? I think one of them was chocolate.

@mildredtabitha We probably won't go back as it was very expensive. Maybe if/when we get to our 60th anniversary.

They used to do something similar with champagne glasses but I've never seen it with jugs.

@judyev My question is this: “Why?” Who would even think up a thing like that? But I grant you, it would be entertaining to watch.

So much has been spent in that place on arty-farty bits and pieces. It was great to experience it but I doubt we'd ever go back.

Thanks for the good wishes. There are three different whatevers and they all go down their own routes from top to bottom. I didn't take too much notice of how they start.

@JudyEv This is my opinion. Lindt in Zürich has the biggest chocolate fountain, people buy chocolate after visiting.

I didn't notice any aroma but it was totally encased in glass. If it smelt of chocolate, it might stimulate everyone's appetite.

@JudyEv Probably is so regarding the color of sauce. Did you try any flowing sauces or is it only for show?
