We had our first half of the IEP for next year when it comes to middle school for my older. So hard to believe that next August my big girl will be a middle schooler a 6th grader that’s like half way to the point of when she’ll graduate from high school. We learned she is mostly going to be mainstream with an a teacher aid in all but two class. Her English and study hall will be in a self contained classroom. Which just means she will be in a much smaller class with maybe two teacher to help with her English (writing and reading) and the study hall is to help her if she needs help in her other subjects, ask questions or any work that can be done so she has less to do at home.

Your little girl is growing up fast! I hope she has a wonderful middle school experience and finds learning to be fun (or at least tolerable!)

I think it’ll be tolerable who actually likes all of middle school?

@ShyBear88 I didn't mind middle school at all, but it was high school where I really started to have fun.

@moffittjc I hated middle school and high school. It didn’t help I moved high schools like twice in the same year so I was the new kid and not body wanted to be friends with the new kid that has a learning disability

I’m sure she will have ups and downs typically when it comes to learning
