Well, I checked few times to see if I have spelled the word ' Parosmia' correctly. It's the first time that I have come across this term. Breaking news flashed as I picked up my mobile to mylot. And I have shared the link here. It's a fussy eating disorder that one develops during Covid and post covid recovery. And they think that it is due to the altered sense of smell and taste. I have shared the link here for you to read it. Hopefully the link works. Long covid effects are still mysterious to scientists and doctors. This virus is a mystery. And only after few years, we would actually be in a position to consolidate all the knowledge that we gain around this mysterious fast changing virus. I have suffered covid and from my personal experience I can say that it changes your body in many ways. And you don't seem to understand your body well. Please stay safe and stay healthy. The virus is still lurking around and can not be undermined.
After recovering from Covid, some children may become 'fussy eaters' displayi...

Parosmia is a neurological disorder that distorts the sense of smell. It existed also in the past before Covid. One of my aunts suffered of this, she almost had no perception at all of smells. She had the habit, but she looked sad when people said "what a wonderful scent...".

@arunima25 I think that no matter which one of the 5 senses we lose it is a serious problem, they are all precious.

Yes, it existed before covid too. And I read that some trauma and other infections can also cause it. It's so sad when people can't have all the proper sensory experiences. And that makes us realise that we take so many precious things for granted. No one would appreciate the senses unless we loose one of them.

@arunima25 I’m sorry you had to experience that. I have some relatives who have recovered and others who are coming down with the virus. I’ve been lucky so far.

@arunima25 Yes, here they talk about the covid d long termers,,those who have effects way after they test negative. Some can be quite serious. Some are fairly minor. The governor of this state had Vivid some months ago and says he still can not smell or taste anything.

Well, the virus is not only a ruthless one but also a mysterious one. With more time passing, we might have more cases of other effects that the virus might have left.. It alters our body in so many ways.

@snowy22315 I have myself suffered symptoms for months post covid and also had a bad reaction to the second shot. Though I didn't loose my sense of smell and taste, it is definitely different and not as sharp as before.

It's spreading very fast. Our apartment complex is declared as a microcontaiment zone. We have more than 60 cases as of today. I am not stepping out of my house unless it's absolutely necessary.

Thank you for sharing the link. I also agree this covid is more like a chemical and less of a virus. The damage it does to people's organs especially the lungs is irreversible

@arunima25 I also think it's man made but we will never know since there are too many sources about the origin of covid

@mildredtabitha Yes. It will remain a mystery. Theories will loom around with evidences of it being man made. And China will never let anyone have a fair probe.

Yes, the virus is so mysterious. And so many still doubt it to be a natural one. It's the biggest crisis that humanity has faced. Many strongly support the theory that it's a man- made virus that leaked out of lab. I hope that it's not the truth. That would be a shame.

That's terrible and I have been through that myself last April. I even had long covid effects for months. I overreacted to the second shot. So, I have personally experienced it. I hope you are all okay. I didn't loose any taste or smell. I was mostly asymptomatic with headache being the only symptom. My sense of smell and taste is not sharp as before. Also, I fail to understand my body. Some days go well while on other days I get up not feeling well

@arunima25 My parents and sister had it, too, We nearly had the same symptoms. My dad had to use an oxygen tank for his breathing. And thank God you survived it, dear. Let’s all be extra careful since Omicron spreads real fast. Take care. Hugs!

@freelancermariagrace I am sure that it must have been a terrible testing time for all family members. We have been through that and can relate to it. Thank God that it is over now and we recovered well. Our apartment complex is a red zone right now and we have many cases here. We are not going out. Our downstairs neighbors too have got it.

It's not something new to medical sciences. It's a neurological disorder that existed even before Covid but the numbers have increased at an alarming rate in the post covid cases.

I’m sorry you experienced covid. I’ve read about long covid and all the horrible after effects. My brother and his wife lost their sense of taste and smell for two days, but fully recovered with no side effects. They were very lucky, since it happened when Covid was at its worst.

We are grateful to God that we had mild symptoms and no long effect. I was almost asymptomatic while my elder daughter had some mild symptoms. We got fully recovered in home isolation and just home remedies. Thank God for that. I hope that the worst phase with the virus is over. It was heartbreaking to see it ruin so many lives.

It's a mysterious one and we are living in uncertain times with the fear of this virus around us. We can only hope and pray that we have better times ahead. I am doing my regular pranayam and yoga. I have a strong faith in our ancient yoga and pranayam system.
