Sleepy during work hours

I find it weird because during work hours, I struggle to be alert but when it's bedtime, my brain is all up. At midnight, I tend to think of random stuff. Sometimes, I watch videos to fall asleep but it does not happen always. Do you have the same problem?

I have the same problem. I go to bed and twist and turn for hours. I never get enough sleep.

@Janet357 Yes, I wonder sometimes if I’ll ever get a good nights sleep.

There are times when I have a difficult time sleeping at night. Thankfully it's not every night.

@Janet357 Maybe. Sometimes it's worries and such as well. It varies in my case.

Could it be hormonal activity?

I am very well during the morning hours, after lunch I slow down, but I am not really sleepy, only slower.

@Janet357 No, even when I was young I was a lot more alert in the morning. Keep in mind that I get up at 5 in the morning, so by 2 pm I am up from 9 hours.

I usually hit the tired part of my day around 3-4pm. Sometimes I take a short nap and it helps. But back in the day when I worked I couldn't nap at my desk I guess that's when I relied mostly on coffee to keep me awake.

@Janet357 being retired does have advantages especially when it comes to naps

Yes almost the same as mine. Though mine starts at 2pm. But now, i think even if you take a nap at 3pm not a problem since you are retired.

Yes, I do. Now, when that happens, I take a nap. Being retired makes life easy that way.

True Miss Val. This everyday is the same day. Though in my case, I just work from home and it starts at 12:30 so not a problem.

That's the reason I always slept during my lunch time at work. After my nap, I felt fine again.

@Janet357 I got an hour lunch time at my work, so that gave me a nice nap.

Very rarely. It happens when I do not get enough sleep the last night or have disturbed sleep. Else I am fine.

@Janet357 I don't take tea or coffee unless I have some company and they offer it. I am not addicted to them.
