Thou Shalt Not Kill!

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't one of the 10 commandments take precedence over divorce? THou Shalt Not Divorce isn't one of them. I was watching a murder "mystery" last night..true crime story of a woman who pushed her new husband off a cliff, after they had just been married on week. Actually, with the length of their marriage, an annulment should have been easy to obtain. She was supposedly "religious" and didn't want a divorce. . What's wrong with saying, "I'm terribly sorry, this just isn't for me, we should go our separate ways." What a nutcase. I have heard of other things like this happening for the same reason. Newsflash, God certainly doesn't want you to kill your spouse, because you don't like them.

Pheeeeew!!!! I'm glad it was just a movie. But people in history could not obey the 10 commandments no matter how hard they tried. So Jesus made it easy. He said if we love God and people then we have fulfilled the ten commandments. Nice title!

It was not a movie, it was a true crime program. I don't think the 10 commandments are that hard to follow personally.

@snowy22315 real! I had to read again and saw "true crime story" I guess I read too fast and missed that part. Now which is better, to divorce or to kill? Both are bad.

But if you get divorced, it can cost a lot of money and you won't inherit the money your spouse has... As long as you don't get caught, you get to keep your money and their money... (Even an annulment costs money. As a matter of fact, it can cost MORE to get a marriage annulled than it would cost for a divorce and there are strict guidelines that have to be followed to prove the marriage was never valid in the first place. Think psychiatrist appointments for one or both parties, lawyers for both parties, court costs...etc.)

They were married a week. Surely, you aren't advocating...murder as an alternative!

@snowy22315 I'm just pointing out the facts to you. I may have felt like murdering my first ex a "few"* times, but never did it. *A few times a month over the seven years it took me to get divorced from her.

Those are the kind of movies that I don´t watch at night. I don´t understand how she did not realise before that her husband was not a good choice. Or, how did she discover it in a week. The movie was badly done and this has nothing to do with God but with a bad script.

@snowy22315 THat woman was evil then. Not a normal person who "discovered" that her marriage was a bad one. Lately, in my country, there was a murder where a couple killed, quartered and buried the woman´s daughter. They were caught but the woman has to be in solitary because the inmates in prison want to kill her.

She got a 30 year sentence. Plenty of time to think over her choices, but she will probably be out in 20 or less.

@RebeccasFarm I doubt it was worth 30 years in jai. She will have a long time to think about it. She can't go home again either.. She was from Kalispell Montana, hardly a big place, can you imagine all the stares and whispers when she gets out? Some might just call her a killer to her face. She would have to relocate.

If killing a spouse is considered better than divorcing, I think there is something wrong.

For sure something is wrong. Her husband was an only child and close to his mother as well. How do you think she feels? Some people are just evil.

Incidents like that happen too often. The Bible also says that "The heart of man is desperately wicked".

The woman needs to be locked away either in prison or a mental hospital for killing her husband.

Was there a life insurance policy on him? We, humans, kill for greed, revenge, or jealousy which are all evil reasons.

I don't think so, she just didn't want to be married to him. She gives a bad name to true believers. Can you imagine?

So she opted for murder instead of a divorce because she is 'religious'? What kind of a belief is that? Anyway, its just a murder mystery

Well, actually it was a true story...they present these shows sometimes like they are mysteries, when it is pretty clear who did it. I think the name of the show was Newlywed Vengeance or something, but was on a true crime channel.

@snowy22315 Since she was the one who wanted out of the marriage it would have been more appropriate If she had jumped off the cliff herself - I don’t suppose she thought of that option.
