I somehow wound up on a mailing list for a website called Word Genius. They send me an obscure word every morning and then define it. Sometimes, I just delete. Occasionally, I actually already know the word. If the word sounds vaguely familiar, or just plain interesting, I check it out. Today's word was "Graminivorous" Because I know what "...ivorous" means, I continued reading. Part of speech: adjective Origin: Latin, mid-18th century (Of an animal) feeding on grass. Examples of Graminivorous in a sentence: "Most of the farm animals were graminivorous." "Meredith’s research studies the effects of a graminivorous diet." Of course, I thought of Hindus and their beloved cows first. I tried to think of sentences using alliteration. "Vanny's cows, in their graminivorous gratitude, gobbled up the grass I gave them." Then I realized that, as a horse, I am primarily a graminivour. In any case, have you heard of this site? Would you click on some of their words?

Do you gobble those lists up? Or do they gobble up your time?

Surely it would be 'graminivore'? Something that sends you an obscure word every morning and then defines it - are you sure it isn't an alter ego of @xFiacre?

I used to get words from that site. I wonder if that world would show up on a spelling bee.

@just4him Yeah. We were good friends. I don't want to say what the word was that destroyed me. But I still remember it.

@lovebuglena Pretty close. Actually, a graminivore IS a kind of herbivore. They just happen to prefer grass.
