Another Inspection

Just got a letter in the mail from Housing. They are coming back on Thursday, January 27th. They were here on January 5th and the woman told my daughter that everything looked fine but, that she would be sending us a letter. They are only giving us two days this time. I guess they don't like the can my daughter uses for cigarette butts. I hate being on Housing so much. My daughter doesn't do much around here and I can't. Hope they find the place up to their standards. We've been on Section 8 and lived here for at least 20 years. I wonder sometimes if they aren't looking for some reason to get rid of us. This place does need some work.
If we get ousted we have nowhere to go. No family or friends we could stay with. This always worries me terribly.

Address the items in the letter. If they listed several items, you could correct as many as you could. Put the butt can out of sight, there's one thing easily corrected. If your future housing depends on this second home visit, then do everything in your power to make sure things are neat and orderly and you've addressed the concerns the letter outlined.
I know you don't have much time but do what you can so that you won't worry about being on the street.

It just seems strange that we have lived here for over twenty years and they have never said a word about the butt can until now. What you have stated here is great. You don't live in my world though. I can't be sure everything is done. Have to take their word for it. Hope they do a good job and at least act like they care.

I am so sorry that you have to go through this. It must be nerve-wracking. Is there someone that could come over and help you clean up a bit so everything looks its best? And maybe you could get rid of that can for the day? Put it in the trunk of your car?

Very nerve-wracking. I always get stressed out. We have no friends or family here. We don't have a car to put the butt can in. Hope it goes well. Thanks for your input.
