Baked Potatoes the Lazy Way

Perhaps I have just gotten lazy in my old age. But when it came to baked potatoes I used to go all out and make a mixture of melted butter with garlic and other spices, pierce and baste my potatoes, wrap them in aluminum foil and bake them in the oven.
For me it was the only way.
But lately I just pierce them, put them onto a plate with just a little bit of water, and then toss them into the microwave for about 10-15 minutes depending on their size.
When we eat them they taste just as good, and we still prepare them the same way ultimately, with a little bit of sour cream, shredded cheese, and bacon bits.
How do you prepare your baked potatoes?

I must be about the only person, but honestly I don't really like baked potatoes. I know. I'm strange

@porwest Lol. Here's another one then.... I am not a particular fan of mashed either! I know! lol. Unless they're loaded full of cream cheese like my friend's husband does 'em.

@FayeHazel I don't think there is a single way a potato is prepared I don't like honestly. At least I can't think of one. lol

Microwaved is fine and dandy, thank you. My stomach can’t tell that they weren’t baked.

@porwest — exactly. Unless the power goes out, then you can bake potatoes in a gas oven while staying warm, so win-win-win!!

@FourWalls I will occasionally do them on the grill outside during the summer.

I usually bake the potatoes in my toaster oven then cut them open and squeeze together and then just add on all the toppings,

@porwest well that is because your kitchen is equipped with an oven this kitchen here does not have a stove or oven so I have to use a hot plate and a toaster oven,

My microwave is my best friend. I haven't baked potatoes in the oven for years. I also add butter, sour cream, cheese and bacon. So yummy.

I like baked potatoes but I never make them. If I ever crave for potatoes I either fry them in a skillet, mash them, or boil them. Sometimes I boil them and they fry a little bit after.

We nuke them. Takes too long and uses too much juice in the oven. Baked sweet potatoes are good this way too.

@porwest They are good for you (orange) and have lots of fiber. I see you are going back through my old comments!

@LindaOHio I could probably use the extra fiber. I take Benefiber. But yes...I always eventually try to get to them all.

It does look good on the photo.
Our baked potatoes are always plain and nothing added to them.
