Good Deed for the Day

I don’t know if any of you remember me post back around the new year about each of us trying to make the world a better place. I posted about sharing when we do something nice for someone for no reason. I said if we shared it maybe others would follow our lead and do something nice for someone else. Well, I have a little story to tell. I stopped on my way home to get gas in the car and as I am pumping the gas I look over and see this younger female putting air in her tire. The whole time I am getting the gas she has the hose to one tire and I’m thinking to myself, how much air is she putting into the tire. I get done filling my car and I drive slowly over, and I ask out the window if she is alright or needs help and she says, “I don’t think it is filling the machine is still running”. I told her it doesn’t shut off automatically. She looked confused, so I said let me help you and then I could see she was a little worried I said if you want to go ahead and lock yourself in the car and I will take care of it. So, she got in the car, and I checked the tire she had it filled up to 48 psi when it should only be at 32-35 psi. I let the air out and check and topped up the other 3 tires. I let her know what they should be at and that she way over filled the one but that I let the air out and she should be good now. She thanked me and off I went. Made me think that while in drivers’ education classes they should teach these kids some basic maintenance on a car. How to put air in a tire, how to check the oil, how to change a tire, things like that I think everyone should know a little about. But at least she was back on the road with the correct tire pressure on the car.

What a nice guy you are. You could have saved her life. The tire could have blown out on her with that much air.

Exactly that could have been very dangerous. She did seem very thankful, and you know what it felt good to help someone out. Of course, it would have been better if it wasn't so cold out LOL.

@Bensen32 I can imagine how good it made you feel. We don't get those chances these days like we used to.

Most strangers will not care but if you're always alert in helping that is a good attitude. We should always be willing to help

I try when I can, if only we could get more people to do simple things like that to help each other out.

With thousands of ways to get roadside assistance now a days, it's doubtful someone would be that smart. However, she's lucky you decided to help her out.

Sadly, we depend on others to bail us out too often. A little knowledge can go a long way.

I am glad you did not rape and murder her and put her in your freezer. And that you got her tire pressure balanced. I have a similar story but I may save it for a post.

Wow, yeah, I'm glad I didn't either.
