Two Weeks Unemployed and Finding My Rhythm

Tomorrow will officially mark me being unemployed for two weeks. It seems like such a scary concept! That's one whole paycheck I'm now missing out on. Emotionally though? And physically for that matter? I feel very motivated and just all around happier. My skin issues that were flaring up have leveled out, my back isn't hurting daily like it was, and hopefully any internal problems I was having will have settled down. Overall, despite lack of income, I'm doing better than when I was working my full time job. Mostly I've been focusing on writing. I've now found three solid sites I can write for that have potential for earning income. I've found a home on Medium for nonfiction articles and opinion pieces, Simily for short fiction, and Stary for novel length stories. My daily routine consists not only of writing something for one of those sites daily (yes, I'm cranking out a piece of writing literally every day right now, after almost two years of writing almost nothing), but also scouring through and reading, liking, and commenting on other people's works. I'm learning as I go and making myself part of these communities, which in turn creates more of a reward for me (similar to posting discussions on here). I'm hoping to keep up this momentum even when I go back to "real" work. I'm looking for something preferably part time for now in hopes that I can keep it up without burning out. If anyone has any questions about any of these platforms, I've been deep diving into them for a couple weeks now so I feel like I have all the ins and outs. At least enough to pass on pros and cons if any of you are interested in writing for them. Let me know!

In 2019 I took a leap of faith and retired from my upper level, six-figure management position I had been in for 20+ years. The stresses of the job and weight of responsibilities were taking their toll on my health. I had no idea what I was going to do next, or how I would survive with no income. And on top of all that, I made the decision during the middle of a pandemic. And it was the best decision I have ever made. I instantly felt the weight of the world lifted off my shoulders, my doctor saw almost immediate improvement in my health and mental well-being, and I found myself happier than I have been in a long time. I had been set free, and there has been no looking back every since then.

@akruser13 We have all been brainwashed throughout our entire lives that we had to follow certain rules of living the American dream, which did nothing but stress us out and put us all in debt. This pandemic was a good thing in that it woke up so many people who were tired of being unhappy in their lives.

Omg thanks for this! Sometimes I wonder if this was a mistake but when I hear people speak of their own positive experiences with the same thing I find it very uplifting and motivating. I got this. No problem. I'm happy and that's what matters.

Thank you! I made forty cents across my articles today and I'm celebrating as if I won fifty dollars, lol. It's a start! I can only gain from here.
