I was a month overdo. I was supposed to get it on the 1st of Jan but I put it off knowing I'd be quitting in two weeks. I got just a little feverish and lethargic the day after my second shot so I figured do it when I'm unemployed and don't have to worry about work.
But then everyone in my house got Covid. Everyone.
So I figured I'd quarantine because odds were I'd get it too. Plot twist - I DIDN'T.
I think I actually had Covid in Jan of 2020 back before anyone knew it was in the country. LA was one of the places where it was first officially reported, and then as time went on they kept discovering that people had it earlier and earlier than they originally thought.
Back in Jan one of my roomies got super sick with a bad cough, my other roomie (her boyfriend at the time, now husband) caught it, and then I did. Super bad cough, couldn't sleep laying down, the whole deal. My district manager also had a cough for literal weeks, and that passed to other people in all four of our stores.
So I think I already had Covid and therefore may have had a slight natural immunity prior to getting vaccinated.
I also worked in a frikken' toy store during Christmas of 2020 and the following months (which were the worst in pandemic numbers and deaths at the time). I've probably come across every germ the general public could throw at me. Daily.
So despite all three of my roomies having Covid, I took my test and tested totally negative. Take that, virus, my body is a TANK.
I still got my booster though. Mostly because I want to be able to flash my vaxx card at people and say yes, I am fully vaccinated. Let me travel and work and go to concerts and do all the things. I don't mind a jab that doesn't even hurt to get my free hall pass.

I won't take a shot I don't need. And, really, it seems silly really. I know a lot of people who had COVID, and survived. Had a real bad flu, nothing more. My husband's been tested twice, negative both times, and he works for pizza hut and has been working throughout this entire thing. It's crazy how the world is viewing it though.

I don't mind it. It's free, it doesn't even hurt - just feels like someone poking you with their finger, you don't feel the puncture. Lots of countries already had vaccine requirements in place well before covid was ever a thing, to me it's just another one to add to the list. Not a big deal. I never get my flu shot because I haven't had the flue since I was a kid, but I'd get that too if it were added to a list of requirements needed to travel around.

I’m a month overdue on my booster shot as well. I got sick after spending Christmas and New Year at Disney World , and then I put it off again until after I got back from my backpacking trip. I’m now ready for my jab.
