Waiting for eyeglasses

Early December I finally got my new eyeglass prescription filled. That is, I took it in to the optical place and picked them out. They were having a special buy one pair, get the second for hardly anything more...They said two weeks. Nope. "The holidays and everything" was the excuse. January 3rd or so, I was able to pick up one pair. One pair. Same prescription, nothing different. Still was given the "holidays" excuse. Went back January 31st. You'd think they'd be ready, wouldn't you? Nope again. They were supposed to be "on route". Got a call the next day saying they got lost somewhere, but I could come in and pick out another pair at no cost. It's not all that easy for me to get there, so I'll just have to wait until Juanita comes down again.

It seems many places are so behind on doing anything and getting stuff. I am sorry it has taken so long Barbara. And yeah do you have to drive far to get there all the time? Your friend takes you I guess. Still.

Far? No, not really... I can take a bus to the mall, then walk through the entire parking lot to get back to the road, cross 4 lanes of traffic, then walk through another big parking lot to get to the optical place.

Wow! That's a bit on the silly side, in my opinion. Pretty and I went in for eye exams two weeks before Christmas and picked up both pair of glasses four days later. Walmart has problems but the optical department isn't one of them.

To really rub it in, I heard a commercial on the radio for a place that'll make your glasses in 15 minutes. Yeah, right. It's in Toronto, anyway.

@DaddyEvil It's not like dollar store readers. There's a lot of things to take into account for glasses to work well for the wearer.

@BarBaraPrz They must have a stock of pre-made lenses and just pop them into the frames they have on hand.

Oh my I’d be so frustrated! My daughter got brand new glasses a few months ago and the screw already fell out. New eye place this time. Never had it happen before and she’s been wearing glasses for probably 6+ years

I hate when they pull those stunts. I hope you'll be able to go soon and maybe make them feel so bad they give you 2 pair for free ....... wouldn't that be nice?
