The long drive home

Hello everyone, So, in my last post I said I would tell you about my drive after work because I didn’t want to make a really long post about my day. After work I had to go get the keys for my new place and then stop and the new place and then drive home. I left work at 1:30 pm and headed to the management building which was about a 45-minute drive then headed to the new apartment another 25-minute drive. Up to that point I was making good time but when I got to the new apartment, I found that the key they gave me to get into the building did not work. I called the office and thankfully they had a maintenance guy close by who came and opened the door for me. The upside was I only had to wait about 10 minutes for him to get there. We checked the rest of the keys to make sure they all worked. I checked the apartment and brought up the few things I brought with me and headed out to go home. The drive was not too bad till I got about halfway home and ran into snow. Yep, that is right it started snowing harder as I was getting closer to home. It should have been about an hour and 20-minute drive home but since I had to slow down for the snow it took almost 2 hours to get home, but I made it safe, so I guess that is what really counts. I do have the weekend off so I can sleep all I want. LOL I guess it could have been better but it could have been so much worse.

I don’t ever have snow problems slowing me down, but about 90% of the time I’m on the road for a long drive home, I get slowed up by accidents. I would love to just go an entire day without being delayed by some type of accident. Glad you made it home safely.

@Bensen32 We've been having one cold front after another push through here in Florida. In the old days, when winter came it would get cold and stay cold for a couple of months. Now, when a cold front comes through, it will get cold for a few days, and then go right back to being hot again. Then another front comes through, it gets cold for a few days, then goes right back to being hot again. It sucks. Hot one day, cold the next. Raining one day, sunny the next. It's very unpredictable.

@moffittjc LOL welcome to my world. Well, it doesn't get hot in the winter but we just up and down from 30 something down to below zero and back all winter. Sunny, windy, snowy can all be in one day too

Snow will really slow some of us down. It's something I really avoid, but if it starts snowing and you are already on the road, we don't have many options.

Did you get a new key for your new home so, you can continue to move? What a bit of luck, maintenance man there to help! Good luck on your move with hopes of nice weather for you!
